I don’t usually do reviews on any sort of restaurant; however, I wanted to come on here and give a review myself on this amazing restaurant. I love the decorations, food, and service of certain waiters. My husband and I go to this place on the weekends — biweekly, per se — and the people that come in are always happy and respectful to the employees. As usual, they just want to go in, eat, pay, and go on home. However, this Saturday, my husband and I went to go eat as usual and we sat close to the front desk, this African American lady with her child came in and was practically waiting for a to-go order from my eyes. I don’t want to be nosy in any sort of situation, however she was so unbelievably disrespectful that she caught my attention. The hostess was being nice and respectful to her as she was to us, very welcoming and warm aura. I saw the hostess going to get her order, and my husband looked at the African American lady, and said she was giving the most disgusting, revolting, and repellent facial expressions as this other lady was checking her out. (That lady appeared to be the owner) In my mind I thought, how could a customer come into a restaurant and treat the workers there as if they were below her. That’s not right. The owner kept being nice to her and even offered her a free drink(s). I saw the poor, young hostess trying to put up with her attitude and I wanted to go up there and say something myself, but I couldn’t intervene. The hostess then began to be snappy at her, repeating what she got; however she asked for a manager. It looked like the hostess was going to get a manager. But the owner walked up to her and started to be patient with her, the African American lady was very rude and disrespectful over a small to-go order. It appeared that the male manager was the husband of the owner. My husband told me to quit being nosy, but I needed to know how they would handle the situation. The owner was being snappy at the lady, which was no surprise because I would’ve done the same. The African American lady then proceeded to say that she was denying to talk to the owner and wanted the male manager instead, which made no sense to me and my husband, since she’s literally the owner. The male manager came he gave her a full refund and was told to not come back. I then turned to look behind me to get a glimpse of the lady, and I seemed to remember her. I then looked at the reviews to see if she would appear, because I am nosy like that. She did review; however, she was playing like a victim and made the others seem bad, as well as the restaurant. That is not right in my opinion. She is going by Jenny J, and I’ve seen her come to this restaurant many times. My husband once said that she kept returning food and getting new platers, that is not fair. I am a physical therapist myself, and will never take advantage of a restaurant like that. Ms. Jenny cannot expect respect, when she can’t respect people herself. And from her reviews, other managers have kicked her out, which is no surprise, I would have done the same. Overall, my experiences with my husband have always been great. Update: I read her whole review and apparently stated that she makes $120,000 a year. Therefore, there should be no reason to complain about pricing at a restaurant, if that’s what she cares about....
Read moreUsually, I am welcomed with a nice experience as far as customer service from the Male Owner of this restaurant. The food at this restaurant is usually very tasty and well seasoned. Unfortunately, on October 21, 2023 around 4:30pm I was approached with the worst customer service from the Owner wife. I initially ordered a carry out order over the phone. When I arrived to purchase my food the Owner wife was at the cash register with a very unapproachable attitude and demeanor.
She ran my credit card for the wrong amount to my order, refunded me the money and then swiped my card again for the order I originally ordered over the phone. I opened up the bag and noticed that they had the wrong order. When I told them that I did not order what was in the bag the owner and the young lady that took the order instantly went into defensive mode and accusing me that I ordered what was in the bag and I wanted free food. (I honestly don’t know what the hell this crazy lady is talking about considering the fact I make $120,00 dollars a year and I don’t need any handouts or free food from a restaurant). I then asked if the Male Owner could come speak with me and the Owner wife said with a nasty attitude and loud tone “What are you asking to speak with him for, I am his wife and he can’t do anything but what I tell him to do” I then calmly said “That is fine can I still speak with him”.
The Male owner approached me very calmly and nice and the wife was behaving in a belligerent and ignorant manner as if she was drunk. She was speaking over me and her husband concerning the issue while other customers in the restaurant was looking at her like she was the fool she was behaving to be. I asked the owner if I could just receive my refund. FYI: I have referred many people outside of Nashville and TN to experience this restaurant because of the Male owner outstanding customer service and the tasty food and drinks.
Due to the Owner erratic wife and her drunkenness attitude and behavior I will not be returning. I will also inform the people that I referred to try this restaurant not to return either. Unfortunately, this owner wife will be the downfall and detriment to his business and success because she has a terrible attitude and lacks respect for others, common decency and kindness to people who are patronizing...
Read moreCouldn't wait to try this place as it is just a mile down the road from us and we eat our for Mexican about 2-3 times a week. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed.
The chips were way too thick for my tastes (this is just a personal preference as I like thin and crispy) but to make matters worse they were stale. The salsa was nothing extraordinary. I've had better from a bottle from the grocery store. We tried the queso dip, which I thought had a nice peppery flavor, but was about as thick as Elmer's white glue.
I had the chicken fajitas (dinner portion). Several complaints here. First, the dinner portion ($20) was the same size as a lunch portion that you get at the other popular Mexican restaurants in the area. Second, the chicken was dry and extremely tough. Third, absolutely NO seasoning that I could tell on either the chicken or veggies. I will say that the peppers and onions did taste very fresh, but again, I didn't get even a hint of seasoning...not even salt.
My wife got the Hawaiian quesadilla. This was the thinnest and saddest excuse for a quesadilla I've ever seen. It was supposed to have ham and pineapple. Imagine a toasted tortilla with a few (very few) bits of small diced ham cubes and a couple of little wedges of pineapple. To make matters worse, it came with sour cream, on the side, in a disgusting, melted looking pool. Yuck.
I will say the staff was friendly, but unfortunately that's about the only positive thing I can say about our experience. We'll continue getting our Mexican food fix at our...
