I gave this place 5 stars a few years ago. I have kept coming but I don't think I will any longer. I took my 4-year-old daughter and 2 teenaged nieces there this Tuesday afternoon and had such a bad experience.
Everyone but 1 employee was a young teenager. Which isn't a problem. But they were standing around and talking a LOT. Also not a problem if the customers still get get good food and service.
We placed our order and 1 of my nieces asked about what came on 2 burgers, then ordered one of them. I ordered a burger that came with bacon but asked for it with no bacon, because I cannot eat pork.
When our food arrived, the cashier had rung up that my niece ordered both burgers for herself, and there was bacon on my burger. She at least HAD put no bacon on the order ticket. The kitchen messed that up. Probably because everyone was so chatty they weren't paying attention. I took my burger back up, showed someone the ticket with "no bacon," then the burger WITH bacon, and just said this wasn't supposed to have bacon. I can't eat pork." The girl looked at me and blinked. Looked down at the burger. Said O.K. and just kept standing there. Finally she asked, "Do you want us to remake it or...?"🤦🏻♀️Yes. Yes I would.
We ordered ice creams for everyone and 2 burgers with cheese curds to go, for family at home. After a few min the ice creams all came out but not the regular food...? Some of the ice creams had spoons and other didn't. NOT a big deal. But we sat there and finished our ice creams BEFORE the rest of the food was brought to our table. At this point I'm pretty disappointed and annoyed. I bragged to my nieces about how great this place always was and they kept proving me wrong.
We finally had the hot to go food, and I grabbed 2 pints from the freezer up front to take to the guys along with the burgers. The girl.that rang me up was frankly standoffish and curt. I was smiling and being polite, even after all that was messed up, and she would not smile and only made monosyllabic responses. OK then. The others were distracted but at least polite...
So we left. When we got home I unpacked the food for the others and there were no cheese curds. Just fries, which obviously aren't great after a 20+ min drive in rush hour traffic, and which were NOT what I ordered anyway. Pretty much every interaction over multiple orders that day was botched. So disappointed in the service. The food that we did receive was good, but overall...
Read moreWe have gone to Culvers at Indian Lake for te almost 10 years that we've lived here. The quality of the food is very good. However it isn't uncommon to be given a double burger when you've ordered a single. I'm not a fan of double meat. Although a single can be so thin at times that it is crispy. I wondered if that is why they sometimes just send a double out to a customer whose ordered a single. My other complaint is not receiving condiments as ordered. I hate finding out a don't have the extra ketchup and extra pickles or onion that I ordered. And it is too much to get back in line to make a correction given the wait time. And I don't understand why coolers are not sold year round. All of the other frozen treats are sold year round. 😢 What about customers who are lactose intolerant or don't like milk or milk products??? I've tried to speak with the corporate office about this inconsistency but to no avail. Perhaps an individual owner can decide differently for their location or approach corporate about this denial of another frozen option being served year round. It would be greatly...
Read moreCame in tonight, placed order, and sat in the line for 10 minutes---no problem, fresh food, right? Runner hands us our bag, and tells us to have a good night. Pull out of parking lot, daughter tells me there's only half the order. Still no problem in my mind, stuff happens. So I go in, let the person up front know that I was missing part of my order, and she questions me, like I was making it up. "you sure? I know I gave you that bag". When I finally managed to convince her I wasn't a food con artist, I get a massive eye roll and a side of attitude, like I was the problem. Waited for them to remake my daughter's order, and she just hands me the bag with no simple "sorry for the. trouble", nothing.
This place used to have amazing service and there used to be one of the owners or their family there every day. Not tonight, and the absentee ownership is showing. Won't be back. I can get poor, indifferent service across the street at McDonald's for...
