After reading the reviews, we decided to eat here for the first time. We were pleased and not pleased with the experience.

The atmosphere is lacking. The space feels very empty and unfinished. I know it wasn't designed for this restaurant, but things could be better.

The food was both very good and surprisingly bad. The birria plate (excellent) was our favorite of the meal. We also had the enchiladas (descent), the kids quesadilla (easy) and the Birria Ramen (bad)! This review was inspired by the latter.

Store bought Ramen served in it's container. Could have been put in a bowl and we would have not known. The lack of caring and the shortcut taken speaks volumes to me as a customer. This meal overshadows the others and we will probably not be back. I'm going to post some pictures. The one that looks dirty is from us placing food on the container to let it cool. It was clean when brought to us. On the menu we did not read anywhere that is was "spicy" it was bought for my son who does not like spicy food. This began a downward spiral to our meal. He left hungry.

Perhaps your experience will be...

UPDATE: 11/04/2024 We we ordered Birria tacos from Los Tapatios in Herriman. And once again, this place is just the best. Upon arriving at home with our takeout order I discovered we had an issue with our order, so I placed a call to the restaurant and the manager, Jorge helped me out and couldn’t of been nicer. Once again, the food was absolutely outstanding. This is our go to place for Birria, if you haven’t tried it, you definitely need to.

We tried Los Tapatios Taco Grill today, it was really good. We tried the Birria Crispy Tacos with Cheese and the Birria Quesadillas with Cheese also, both were delicious. We did a drive thru order, very fast, super friendly. The condiments were yummy, they automatically put them in the order, which was so helpful, as we didn’t know what we could ask for. They included lime wedges, red hot sauce which was very tasty and mild, green hot sauce which was pretty hot, red onions and cilantro pico. We also ordered 8 oz cup of consume to dip our tacos, it was excellent. We will definitely be making this a regular...

The food here is very good and is centered around Birria which is very good meat. If you want variety they do not have it but the food they do is very good. We loved the crispy tacos, the rolled tacos, and the burrito.

I am giving 4 stars because we came on a Sunday night at 6:30 PM and the place said it was open with three open signs flashing. On Google it says they are open until 9 and there are no signs anywhere on the building posting their hours. We came into the restaurant and were served well but we noticed four people trying to come in while we were eating and the doors were locked even though their drive through was open. Then we were told their lobby closes at 6 on Sundays. There is nowhere anywhere stating this. They lost 4 customers in an hour. That is bad business practice. Thank you for wonderful food and serving us well but please for your own sakes organize this part of your business better. I would have been very upset if I had been one of those customers...

We used the drive-thru. It was very convenient, and the service was quite helpful, even through a speaker box. We ordered some tacos, a quesadilla, and some beans and rice. The beans and rice: Rice had a surprising smoky flavor to it. Quite nice. The pinto beans paired well with the rice. They don’t taste like they were just plopped out of a can. Rather, they taste like they were prepared from scratch. The tacos: We ordered ours crispy, some with cheese and some without. GET THE CHEESE. The ones without cheese were surprisingly dry. It’s almost like frying the taco sucked all the juice out. The cheese ones were juicier and had more flavor. The quesadilla: Best part of the meal. Super juicy, lots of flavor, and quite filling. Highly recommend it. You entrees come with a side of salsas, onions, cilantro, lime, and grilled onions. The salsas were average, and the grilled onions were great. I’d come back again, but I’d go for a burrito, a mulita, or something else on the menu.

Los Tapatios is a unique restaurant, it's a cross between fast food but has the feel of a sit down restaurant. The cheese enchiladas were delicious and different from any other cheese enchiladas I've had. Also, the Birria (shredded beef) enchiladas with green sauce were also delicious but my wife did mention it was a little spicy. Typically I don't eat Mexican rice because it's normally dry, However, the rice was one of the best I've had. The pinto beans were also unique, I wasn't a fan of them but they weren't bad, but my wife loved them. So, overall everything was delicious and the ambience was comfortable and inviting. I almost forgot to mention the service, we were promptly seated and our waiter was awesome! Thanks for a new experience!
