We've been here numerous times and each time, our experience gets worse. We're at the point where we're ready to stop going. The restaurant is always very messy and the tables are never clean(ed). The women's restroom never has toilet paper (this happened 2 times). I told an employee each time and after 25 minutes, still no toilet paper and they weren't even busy. Was overcharged and brought this to the employees (Bianca) attention. After 5 minutes trying to get the situation resolved, she finally got male manager to "help". Well, he either didn't resolve the situation or didn't teach Bianca how to resolve the situation. She stood there for another 4-5 minutes then asked another male employee to help. After another 5 minutes, he figured out how to resolve the overcharge. So, almost 15 minutes to get refund fixed. While all this was going on, customers were coming up to the register to ask for forks, more cups etc (as there was no forks and condiment cups left) and the 2 employees totally ignored the customers standing in front of them. Seems there is a lack of training on many levels. Now on to the food: The brisket and pork are always very fatty. Why can't the employees cut/chop off the fat? Each time we've eaten here, by the time we sit down, the meat is already cold. Each time we've ordered the potato casserole, we have said no onions, and each time, the employee (Bianca again), put onions on the casserole. We ordered fries, Bianca walked to us, asked "did you order fries or onion strings"?. We said "fries" and what did Bianca give us and walk away? Onion strings. The other thing that totally grossed me out, while refilling the utensils (after customers had to ask for some), Bianca, without gloves on, put the forks directly on the counter that was filthy. Why didn't she clean the counter, have gloves on, and put the forks into the fork container instead of on the filthy counter?! If the health department had been there, hello violations! Seems as though the owner needs to get to the Hillsboro restaurant and do some training. Or else, he's going to be losing...
Read moreThere were 4 or five people working tonight. They were clearly busy with online orders so it took a while to help the guests in the lobby which is understandable but the woman in front of me had to keep repeating her order to them every few minutes because they kept going in between orders which I could tell was bothering her. While we waited the woman made a comment to me asking if all the employees should be wearing masks as she was referring to a girl making orders who had her mask under her chin and not covering any part of her face. We both agreed that is unacceptable during a pandemic as she is touching food with her bare hands and shouting over everyone's food with no mask. Every other employee in the store was wearing their masks properly. I ordered my food and the woman taking my order removed her mask to talk to me then put it back on and did not wash her hands. The girl wearing the mask under her chin picked stuff out of her teeth then went back to making orders. Me and the woman in front of me saw this and were appalled. I had to tell her to wash her hands and put her mask on before she touched anyone else's food. The woman at the register kept touching her mask, money and the food without ever wearing gloves or washing her hands. They also almost gave away my food to another person and I left with out them giving me any BBQ sauce. The woman who gave me my drink at the register also had gotten soda all over the cup and when I asked for a napkin to wipe it off she just dumped out part of the soda and gave me back the cup with soda all over it. Over all this visit was a mess. This store needs to revisit the 6 ft distance policy since not a single person followed it along with proper hand washing procedures. This is absolutely unacceptable...
Read moreTl;dr: Food was below average, facility was average, service was bad. Don't come here unless you want to waste your time, money and freeze to death. Food isn't filling.
Long review ahead.
There seemed to be a lot of good reviews, but ket me tell you that the restaurant did not live up to those expectations.
Facility: Average, place was colder than a meat locker. Was about as clean as you would expect for an American BBQ restaurant. 3/5
Service: It was terrible. Main food worker more or less yelled at us, had to take orders slowly, one at a time and had us repeat things multiple times. Food came out relatively fast, but it was dissapointing. I guess we now know why it's called Dickeys. 3/5
Food: Below average. 2/3 meat dishes were so cold, it was almost like they were taken out of the refrigerator. Side dishes were mostly satisfactory, but average. We got "2 extra ribs, that's not normal," but they ended up being inedible (hard as a rock). Both the Beef Brisket and the Polish sausage were freezing cold, and the waffle fries were overly salted. Also, no butter for the buns. Very dissapointing. Finally, when I went to try their "Free Ice Cream!" to water down my disappointment, all I tasted was a sugar-free, watered down treat. Very dissapointing. 1/5
We came here on Easter Sunday. If this was their best service, I don't want to experience their worst. This was a complete waste of time. I hasn't even been 30 minutes, and I'm already hungry again. Don't go here folks, not until there is a change in management. It was very empty, and for a very...
