Absolutely terrible experience. Do NOT waste your time or money at this place.
Came in 30 weeks pregnant with my two young children and husband. The hostess sat a group of men before us even though she acknowledged that we were there first. I excused it - maybe she just got confused. Then we waited almost 10 minutes (my children were very patient and not disruptive) standing at the host stand while she walked around giving us side glances!
Finally we were seated, and the hostess brought a highchair. My daughter loves looking through the sugar packets, so we were going through the sugar packers and looking at them one at a time - and ensuring that we were putting the packets back in the container CORRECTLY before grabbing another packet to look at. The hostess came back over to our table and SNATCHED the sugar packet out of my daughter's hand and the sugar container off the table in front of me saying, "I'll take that."
I want to very clear - we were not opening the packets. We were not dumping them on the ground. We weren't even emptying the container on the table. We were picking one up at a time.
I have worked in restaurants for many years and know how frustrating it can be when any patron - not just kids - leaves a big mess. So I ALWAYS clean up the mess my children make and stack all dishes for servers to clean up faster. Yet, this woman unjustly and rudely judged me and my children.
We immediately got up and left, myself in tears over the complete rudeness of this hostess.
I will never be back. I will tell everyone I know to never go here. I will always discourage anyone online asking for Hilton Head restaurant suggestions from going here.
Do not even bother going here. They discriminate against children, pregnant women, and families.
Also BEWARE: They have an upcharge for using a card instead of...
Read moreOk, this may take a minute. The experience I had with this place was VERY disappointing. I wanted to get the gyro plate with the sides it comes with. Well, the gyro is not a wrap, ok, I understand that, but all I requested was for it to be put in a pita wrap. No problem, right? Well, apparently it is for our server today. They could have charged me for the damn pita. Now let me back up for a second. I am a disabled Vet with severe arthritis in my hands that make it difficult to use utensils. Which is why I wanted it in a wrap. But no, he wasn't even going to ask! So, I had to order the gyro wrap with one side instead. Now, all of my working career has been in some sort of customer service. I was a restaurant manager for 10 years and if were possible, I ALWAYS got the customer what they wanted. So, not only did I not get what I wanted to order, he cost his boss $12 because I had to downsize. This was a case study on what NOT to do as wait staff. I left the restaurant still hungry. And the dumbest thing is that he could have had a MUCH bigger tip had he accommodated my order. I am a big tipper, if I get good service. Too many people think that tips are a given, NOPE! Tips are for getting waited on, GOOD tips come when you go the extra mile. I really hope they read this, because they lost my business. We've been coming to the island since 1985 and have never gotten this kind of service, ANYWHERE. I fought my family to come here tonight as well and all I wanted to...
Read moreGoing here for the first time was a good experience but there were some down sides. On arrival there is plenty of parking, and they allow dogs in their spacious outdoor seating area. We were immediately seated and our waitress was right there to take our drink orders. Drinks came right away and food selections made from a decent sized menu with all your Greek favorites. Our apps were delicious, the calamari was tender and the Spanakopita was amazing. We got the gyros and were impressed with the size of them and the amount of meat in them. However the thickness of the meat slices made it really hard to eat, we basically had to deconstruct it and use a fork and knife. The tzatziki was very creamy and packed full of flavor. The fries were seasoned perfectly with the right amount of crispy and soft fries. The dessert case was full of authentic Greek pastries and other desserts. Our waitress took the time to tell us about each one and what all was in them. The only other issue would be the owner that made eye contact with us numerous times but never came to our table to talk to us in any way. He did however go and talk to others at tables right around us. I watched him treat our waitress in a less than professional manner as she was trying to cash out other customers and needed change. I've been to Greece and eaten at restaurants all over Europe and was always greated and thanked for my business. Maybe next time as we'll definitely...
