Absolute worst manager that is working there right now at 10:30pm 4/8/21. I ordered food to take out with my two son's as dine in stops at 10pm. That wasn't a problem for us. So after I ordered, my son's sat down at the bar to wait as I stood. The manager rudely tells my two boys "You can't sit here!" So when I told her we would sit on the other side and wait where two other people are sitting, but the seats were wet with something spilled on them, she proceeded to just say "Well you can't sit here!" All I wanted her to do was wipe the seat if that is where she wanted us to sit. Instead the young man who took my order came on his own to wipe it for us. No empathy as a "manager" from this girl. Instead the young man who took our order apologized for her behavior. Then as I am watching everyone work, some workers are wearing gloves and some were not. The man flipping burgers is. But I watched another man empty fries into the fryer with none. Then I watched the man making our milkshake wear no gloves. Ever worst, the manager herself isn't wearing any gloves while wrapping and packing orders. But the young man who is taking orders is. So when I said I don't want my food and want a refund, the manager said very adamantly "I'm not giving you a refund...because the food is already made." She proceeds to tell me that not everyone has to wear gloves because the fry guy emptied the fries from a bag. But the burger guy has to because he makes burgers. REALLY?? The man making burgers isn't touching the burgers with his hands!!!! But he is wearing gloves and so is the man just taking orders at the register!!!! So then she condescendingly says to me "I'll put gloves on now though to put your food in the bag." Wow!!! She proceeds to tell me I'm just mad that they didn't have tots which I originally ordered?????? Really? You think as a "manager" this is over an order of tots, which I gladly had substituted with fries???? So after she tell me "I'm not going back and forth with you", I told her I can just call my bank and charge back the charge, to which is shrugs her shoulders and says, "Yeah, you can because I'm not giving you a refund." I been coming to this Johnny Rockets for over 20 years. Never have I had this type of experience....and all because of one person. Also putting this...
Read moreIt was my very, first time trying out Johnny Rockets while we visited Hoboken. Loved the super funky exterior but when we ventured inside... WOW! It honestly felt like we'd stepped back in time to the 50's! The retro-looking seats, the feel and vibe of the place, along with the old record selectors they used to have back in the day (although these ones no longer work, it was still cool that they were part of the diner!) They had old tunes playing, which added to the diner vibes. With us visiting during the week, we were able to find a seat immediately, greeted by the lovely young lady working there. We had time to browse the menu, which offered things such as fries, tots and onion rings, along with burgers, sandwiches, and salads also. I must say, their hand-spun milkshakes are AMAZING! I opted for the peanut butter one and my word, it was delicious! Super creamy, thick but not too thick that you couldn't suck it through the straw. When the young lady came back to take our orders, we started with the onion rings which were super crispy and tasty, being complimented by the ranch sauce on the side. For the burgers, you have a choice of a single patty or a double. I ended up going for a single Route 66, which came with Swiss cheese, grilled mushrooms, caramelised onions and mayonnaise. The burgers don't come with fries, so you have to specify if you'd like them. But the burger itself, along with the onion rings was very filling. Pressing down the burger, I could see the juices from the burger and biting into it, was a real taste sensation! SO MUCH BETTER than anything you'd get at McDonald's or the likes. The burgers were fresh and cooked to order on the big grill in the kitchen, full of flavour from the first bite to the very last. THIS is certainly a place I'd come back to, without a doubt! A big thank you to the young lady who served us, as she was super pleasant and a pleasure to interact with. We exchanged brief pleasantries with the chap who was at the bar, as we were leaving (I believe he may have been a manager/the owner). Would highly recommend if you're in Hoboken, looking for a bite to eat in an awesome...
Read moreWent in last night cause I was craving Johnny Rockets and their burgers are always great. This girl with short hair and glasses attends us. Gives us the menu and runs away. We figured she had a long day so we don’t mind. As the service continues, it just gets worse and worse. She comes and takes our order so we tell her the drinks we want and as I’m about to tell her what I want to eat, she runs off. Again, we brush it off as maybe she’s just overwhelmed. She comes back, finally takes our order, and as my cousin is looking through her options, she runs off again. We stopped feeling bad for her once we noticed, she was giggling with her coworkers and even singing. Every time she walked past us, she would roll her eyes for whatever reason. When we finally got our burgers, and we took our first bite, she bought us the check. We never asked for it. Not one word was said. It was a literal drive-by. She walked past us, tossed it on the table and kept moving. I caught her looking over to where she placed the check and saw that it was in the same spot and rolled her eyes directly at me. My cousin and I were quiet guests. We sat down and had a normal conversation no obnoxious screaming or joking, or anything. There was no reason to treat us the way she did. I wish I would’ve said something to her or found out who the manager was that night because she should not be serving people with that attitude. I had to convince my cousin to order the burger she came for because the server quite...
