If I could leave less than 1 star I would I asked not one but both bartenders for drinks and they said okay and they went on to give other people drink and cash people out the whole time and when I asked her for a 7,8,9,10th time she caught a attitude with me because I was upset I waited over 45+ minutes for 2 bud lights. I have friends that worked at Mills Tavern, Ashford, 1Republik, Wicked Wolf, and I generally enjoy going to different and new bars but I have never asked for beers for over 45+ minutes and having the bartender saying okay and make eye contact with me but no I have waited over 40+ minutes for a beer. I’ll never go again and after seeing the bartender get upset over her poor service told threaten me and not only me but threaten my 2 friends. I have never had such poor service I get it you’re busy I work in this industry for 6+ years bartending and serving and I have never had bartenders have people threatened to jump people when they are leaving or threaten people to leave. It is unacceptable and I will make sure that the city of Hoboken know they allow bars to have their staff have people threatened. This another reason you should not even bother going to Hoboken but only to local bars or as far down as Jersey City but I will never again go to this bar that has the probably worst service I have ever had and I go to Vegas clubs 6-8 times a year before covid and I never had this bad of service nor have I ever been threatened by a bartender to have me jumped. This is absolutely unacceptable for me and for anyone else. This would my last time and only time at this bar and that’s coming for someone that has working in clubs you are going to tell me Tally - Ho hires bartenders that say “sorry we are busy we have 400+ people here” I get you are busy but there is literally 2 bars with 4 bartenders and complaining it’s busy but if you stopped complaining about how busy it is to justify you taking pictures with people and running to the DJ booth while trying to figure out bills is too hard maybe you shouldn’t work at a “bar” in Hoboken. I used to go to 1Republik or Mills Tavern without knowing anyone for my first 10+ trips and have great service. So do not tell me a place that is “busy” when I have seen way more people at a bar/club than this place and you tell me you are “busy” no you aren’t you are more worried about Instagram and the people we know than other customers which I get you take care of your friends first whatever no big deal who am I but it is not an excuse why a customer has to ask 10+ times for a beer then catch an attitude. I don’t no recommend this bar in Hoboken at all. Out of the all the bars I have been to in Hoboken over the past 4-5+ years and this is by far the worst...
Read moreI have gone to Tally-Ho for the past 2 years, but tonight was absolutely horrendous. My best friend and I had stopped here, then gone to Black Bear for a little, which is right next door to Tally-Ho. After spending some time there, we went back to Tally-Ho, and upon checking our ID's the bouncer looked at mine and said that "it wasn't me." Those are the exact words. He continued and said, "Where was your ID issued?" I proceeded to tell him either in Lodi or Lyndhurst of last year since that is where I took my driver's test to receive my license. He replied with, "Try again." in a very rude manner, that took my best friend and I aback. I have never dealt with anyone being rude to me or having an attitude with me at Tally-Ho's. This was the first time, but it was such a strong accusation that I cannot forgive the business for.
The bouncer continued to say that the ID was not me and that it was real, but it was not me within the photo. I had to supply another photo ID, which I did, being my old college ID that had my name and birthdate on it. This did not seem to suffice. The bouncer then showed my driver's license to TWO other bouncers. One asked if I was Hispanic?! Which I do not believe had anything to do with whether or not that was me within my driver's license photo, just because my hair was pulled up and straight within my photo, yet at the time it was out and in its natural curly state. I feel like it was such a discrimination against Latina women. Does my hair have to be in that particular style of my driver's license to certify that that is in fact ME? I was SO astonished by this.
Then the THIRD bouncer that took my driver's license asked me to pull up my Facebook. I did, but I did not understand how a social network would confirm that my driver's license (a state issued ID) would confirm that it is in fact ME. People put fake birthdates on Facebook all the time! The bouncer only confirmed it was me by scrolling through my Facebook profile photos. How convenient and professional of him! All I was given was an apology for the "inconvenience" by this bouncer. I asked the first bouncer why he did not think this was me and he just blatantly IGNORED me.
I am not one to write negative reviews about a company at all, but this was absolutely horrible, that a review was needed. I was completely mortified and angry that I had to PROVE that I was actually ME to someone that did not seem clearly fit to do his job.
I do not recommend this place to anyone after this...
Read moreI went to Tally-Ho this past July 26 2025. My sis found a post on their website for a Halloween party in July. I ended up going alone that night all dressed up !!!. Upon arrival, I saw one other person in the party with what looked like reindeer ears upon her head as though she too had seen the flyer online. Once at the party, no one other than us two showed up dressed for the event. I've had multiple on-lookers come up to me and ask me why I was dressed up. I showed them all the flyer. Most stated had they known they would have dressed up as well. Except for one individual, he informed me that " Tally-Ho was corny not the best place to attend and how they fail on following through with their own request for such events." His words, not mine. Anyhoo, the security guy walked past me and said I was the only one who actually got dressed up concerning the night in question. The second time he came around, I asked him if that meant I won the $100.00 dollars offered for the best costume that night ? He left and said he would go and find out for me. He nvr came back; suggesting he spoke with his boss, and he decided to lie about the event hosted that night all together not to have to pay out. Around 12am ish, a dude, I believe, associated with the bar came out dressed as the grinch who stole Christmas. I've been at the bar a few times since then, and that's nvr happened. I figured it was associated with the Halloween party they advertised that night. Upon the bar closing, I walked out, bumping into the security guard and the owner. He informed me that it was no such engagement, and I knew right away he was lying. Compliments my costume and suggested the nxt time I was back at his establishment that he would give me a free drink 🍸 on him.. I was like, why, if no such festivities were on-going, why not just apologize and leave it as such discretion, there was no need to embark on free drinks unless you were honestly guilty of not releasing the money I so deservingly won and should have received. That was my experience at Tally-Ho this past Saturday night🌙.... May everyone's experience if they decide to go be way better...
