We just had dinner last night with Chef Gene, and our party of six had an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with such warmth and hospitality. The host, Adrian, made the night so much fun, bringing an energy that set the perfect tone for the evening. His charisma and attention to detail were absolutely on point, making sure that every aspect of our night flowed seamlessly. The food—wow. The sushi was incredibly fresh, bursting with flavors that were thoughtfully balanced and presented with an artistry that elevated every dish. Each course was a culinary journey, and you could really tell that Chef Gene put his heart and soul into every bite. Highlights for us were the buttery toro and the perfectly seasoned uni. The omakase experience felt like a true indulgence, and every piece of sushi left us wanting more. As much as we loved the food, it was the ambiance that made the night truly special. The sleek, modern décor combined with subtle lighting created an atmosphere that was both intimate and lively, perfect for our group. It’s the kind of place where you feel instantly relaxed but also excited to see what comes next. The music was just right—not too loud, but still enough to keep the energy up throughout the night. But what truly made this sushi spot stand out was the staff. Adrian and the rest of the team made us feel like we were more than just guests—they made us feel like family. Their passion for what they do was evident in every interaction. They took the time to explain the details of each dish, made sure our drinks were always topped up, and never missed a beat in making sure we were having the best time. It’s rare to find a place that balances great food, ambiance, and service so effortlessly, but they managed to do it.

Went here for my anniversary. It’s located in the W hotel. It’s a cool and small spot. Very millennial vibes. 90s pop art and soundtrack playing. I’m not against that but as a millennial myself, I found it a bit gimmicky. More someone trying to be cool than actually being cool. The service was great. Everyone was super nice and friendly. The chef was funny, attentive, and engaged. The Sushi was delicious. The drinks were tasty. But be warned that this is not a slow and pleasurable dining experience. This is more eat and get out as quickly as possible. It’s not anything the staff did but every course (we did the 17 course menu) was one right after another, with barely any time to process and think about what we should had. The chefs were working furiously getting every course prepared. It wasn’t something we felt at first but once you started getting to the 6, 7, 8 course, you start to notice how quickly everything is moving. There was no time to sit and relax. You could already see the next guests sitting on the side waiting for their turn. It’s not necessarily a bad thing. Just not how I would like want to spend a night out considering the price tag. Even if they made it 75 mins instead of 60 mins it would be much better.

I frequented the Jersey City location alot, so when this opened up - you know it peaked my interest and I had to go! First - let's start off that I'm a 90s baby, so the ambience and music choices really hit my 90s Hip Hop & RnB nostalgia points. The seating/waiting area is great cause it has about 4-5 individual tables for you and your friends to just wait and enjoy drinks. We were served by Chef Andy and he truly is a bundle of joy and sweetheart. We enjoyed his energy and he makes it such an interactive dinner. Last but not least, I absolutely love the captain Anthony. His energy is infectious and he ensures you are being taken care of and that you have a good time. The location is at the W so when you're done, you can take a walk by the water especially if you need digest or have a nice conversation with a date 🙂

My husband and I did Valentine's Day this year at Sushi by Bou!

Could not recommend this omakase experience more. The courses felt well thought out and intentional in the order they were being served to us. I grew to have a greater appreciation for fish that aren't usually my favorite. The initial selections were light and zesty and gradually built up to more deep and savory flavors. Staff was super attentive and friendly, as was the chef. The atmosphere was laid back, but elevated and felt exclusive and intimate in the right way. Everything we ate was so good, perfectly seasoned, and well crafted. While the whole course took 1 hour to serve, it felt like time was flying by. I honestly didn't want the dinner to end and the miso cod lives rent free in my head

Additionally, we were thrilled to find out that they accommodated for shellfish allergies. During the dinner, we felt confident that Chef Lee had a strong understanding of the ingredients he was working with and what my husband could and couldn't eat! Sometimes, his mouth even gets itchy from cross contamination, but the sushi was handled so professionally and thoughtfully, that this didn't happen. Definitely impressive, as he was serving 2 other couples besides us. This did not diminish the experience for him, and he still got a unique substitute each time.

We definitely plan on going back for any special occasions or...
