$86 for two small pizzas!
This is the frustrating saga that led me to pay $86 for two small pizzas while being completely disregarded by Tony Boloney’s management.
On April 25th—about a month ago—I ordered two pizzas through the website. I mistakenly selected pick-up instead of delivery and called the Hoboken store to cancel the order so I could re-order for delivery. I was assured the order would be cancelled, and I went ahead with the delivery order.
A few days later, I discovered that the pick-up order was never cancelled. I ended up being charged twice—one for the order that should have been cancelled and one for the delivery order that worked fine. I even went to the Hoboken store two days later; a manager promised to call me, but he never did. At that moment, I had no idea I was stepping into a long ordeal of excuses and blatant disregard from my once-beloved pizza place.
I sent two messages through Tony Boloney’s website contact page and got nothing. Desperate, I found an email address on their Facebook page and reached out. The founder, Mike Hauke, replied, “Very sorry, not acceptable and we will make sure you are refunded. Our GM Ed is on this and we will take care of it right away.” Following a brief exchange with GM Ed—who collected some details and told me he had voided the payment and I’d get my refund within a day—I waited. A week passed with no refund. I contacted them again, received another round of excuses, waited another week, and reached out once more. Now, Mike Hauke says he's handling it personally, and GM Ed claims he already processed the refund through Toast and would update me. Yet, here we are: another week without a refund or any real communication.
I’m done. I’ve done nothing wrong and I’m utterly disappointed and furious. I’ve ordered pizzas here weekly for over a year, but this is the last time. There are plenty of excellent pizza places in Hoboken where management actually cares about...
Read moreNow I am not one to ever complain about food or feel compelled reviews because I work with customers so I know what it’s like dealing with people but there was no excuse for my food/visit last night.....we drove one hour to this place heard about all the rants and rave about this place but I was very dissapointed we spent 80.00 in food and there is no excuse! We went in place was cold dirty we looked passed that! Ordered a gravy train and the word stale is describing it genourously the meat was cold cheese wasn’t melted and I literally had to tap into my jaw strength to bite into this sandwich but I didn’t complain we had more food coming so I said let me make the best of it they seemed busy it’s okay....THEN HERE COMES WINGS! THE DEAL BREAKER! They came out cold to the touch! And when I mean cold COLD!! So I said I have to bring this to there attention explaining it was cold! The cashier/server/pizza maker/everything under the sun said the sauce made the wings cold. WAIT...WHAT? Again i desregarded thAt I said can you just make it hot please yet again I’m not one to ever complain! I get my chicken wings and when I started to eat it I noticed that the inside of the chicken was raw and had blood still inside! IM DONE! I requested my money back which they gave but some manager that was there stated “that’s nothing it’s just blood” bruh come on man! I smoked meats grill cooked tons of wings in my life that is just horrible! My girlfriend and friend food was ok the CARNEY BALLS where cold and stale! They are reheating premade food and that’s a no no I was expecting very good quality food from this place! We planned this place a week in advance as our cheat meal and man what a dissapointment.....recommend Benny tudinos or your worst pizza place ever atleast your food would be hot! Lol I’m sorry but I couldn’t help but to write a review I never liked leaving negative...
Read moreMy family and I were vacationing in New Jersey and New York for the week before Christmas and we had many places on our devour list and this did not live up to the hype at all. We ordered two small pizzas one basic cheese $12 not a lot of cheese on this pizza sauce heavy and burnt crust. Next small pizza we ordered F...... gindolune $22 was the best pizza out of everything we ordered more cheese but still not a lot but the flavor was good enough to overlook the burnt crust. Then we also ordered 3 individual slices and 2 order of fries. The individual slices which I am glad after tasting that we only ordered 1 of each. The infamous taco, taco, taco pizza $15 dollars for one slice the guacamole on the pizza store bought taste better and the tacos x3 on the pizza were horrible the shell of tacos were dried out. The filling was like tacos from someone that doesn't know how to make tacos at all. The next slice was heart attack at $5.50 with breaded nasty chicken I will stop there with that one it didn't get eaten like the rest of the slices. Next slice was poor Leo at $5.50 it was ok edible at least. Last but not least the two orders of fries that we had were the barbarian at $14 I did not personally try these my brother and daughter did and they had only one complaint was only few crumbs of bacon on the fries. Next order of fries was the crustacean at $17 these are def frozen fries cooked way to long with 2 tiny pieces of lump crab I tried them but they were horrible. Also we came inside and it's absolutely freezing in the inside so we did not eat inside and the people weren't that friendly. They also weren't mean. Just blah. Def will not be back for 100 worth of food that had to go in...
