Mancino's Pizza & Grinders — Restaurant in Holland Charter Township

The only reason this review is being two stars instead of just one, is that I've been going to various Mancino's locations all over Michigan for the better part of 40 years, including this store in Holland, and the food and service have generally been pretty good. Today however, was stunningly bad in just about every imaginable way.

We came to this place around 4:00 today (so, not super busy) and ordered a whole grinder and a pizza. The grinder took over 15 minutes to get to us, which we saw was made incorrectly (we said no cheese and it had cheese anyway). The pizza came 10 minutes later turned out to be undercooked... as in, the dough had a very thin cooked layer on the pan but was still mostly like raw pizza dough underneath the toppings!

But that wasn't the most disappointing part. We showed it to one of the staff, who apathetically stated he would let the manager know. After 5 more minutes it became apparent no one was told anything. Then I went up to find the manager myself and brought a piece of pizza to show him directly that it was mostly raw dough and undercooked overall. What was his response? PUSHBACK. He claimed "that's how we always make our pizzas" to which I said I've been to several Mancino's (including in Holland) and showed him again "this pizza is not done at all, you can't tell me this is how you always serve these". I then reminded him the sandwich wasn't right as well. He doubled down, insisting there was nothing wrong, not offering to apologize, not offering to make things right or anything else. Finally I just asked for a box and said a bit louder "I'll finish cooking it at home".

This manager has no business running a lemonade stand, much less a pizza joint... and certainly not a successful place like Mancino's, because people with the attitude he has are gonna run it into the ground.

So again, two stars only because I like Mancino's... but one star for today's food, and zero stars for this...

We have enjoyed Mancino's Pizza for years, usually the best. But within the last two months, June and July 2019, it has been the worst pizza, Pizza Hut is better tasting than Mancino's pizza. The crust is tasteless and doughy, and we always get the vegetarian pizza and the vegetables quanaties, and quality seem reduced, and replaced by much cheeze, the crust seems burnt and the toppings stop 1/3 of the of the way from the crust edge. We will no longer purchase pizza from, and can no longer recommend Mancino's. Mancino's need to rethink cheap to increase their profits by reducing quality. Or maybe they need to retrain their...

From what I remember, this place was really delicious. Haven’t been here in quite a long time but let me tell you they surely disappointed me. Ordered a steak sub no tomato no onion add heavy mayo, green olives, black olives and bacon got home.and the Sub had no mushrooms no peppers no mayonnaise and was covered in pizza sauce with very undercooked bacon Very disappointed. called the restaurant very vague explanation of what happened. was offered a new sandwich but I live 15 minutes away so I opted for a credit for a sandwich at a future date which I’m not even sure I will use.
