Pizza is the best 2nd only to Boston pizza for those of you looking for a NYC style pie. Perfectly thin crispy crust and very fresh quality topings. French fry appetizer was amazing. Shoe string fries with perfect amount of salt, and nice and crispy. Lots of beer options, although was disappointed no Mich Ultra on the list of beers. This JDolans in Kahala is much larger than the one in town and has outside seating. Lots of free parking in one of our best neighborhoods on the island. Service was very good as well with friendly and attentive staff even though it was very busy. Pizza takes a while to come out which is fine by me as long as it's good. Only negative is the acoustics in the Dining room. Extremely loud and you need to yell in order for your guests to hear you. Not a good place for normal conversation unless you sit outside. Big screen TVs but programming choices were terrible with no live baseball or current sports being shown. Need to get Directv or Directv Stream for best sports offerings. Pizza is a bit pricey for the size, but quality and preparation is what is key here. Look to spend 60+ beans for 3 people including couple of drinks and an appetizer. Menu is online and very accurate to what is offered in the restaurant. They do takeout as well. Very happy to have a JDolans in...
Read moreA Flavorful Experience with Room for Improvement
I recently dined at this restaurant, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. Let me break it down:
The Good: The food quality was commendable. The flavors were on point, especially in their sausage and pepperoni pizza. Each bite was a burst of deliciousness.
The Ricotta Pizza: Now, let's talk about the ricotta pizza. While it had potential, the ricotta was a bit overpowering. Dialing down the richness would elevate this pizza to excellence. Lesson learned: next time, I'll listen to my friends' advice!
Service Quirk: Here's where things took a slight detour. I requested a cup with a lid for my child, but unfortunately, they didn't have any. Predictably, my kid ended up spilling water, causing unnecessary work for the staff during a busy time. It's a small detail, but having kid-friendly cups with lids would be a smart move.
Kid-Friendly Straws: Lastly, a suggestion for the owner: consider adding kid-friendly straws. It's a simple touch that can enhance the dining experience for families.
In summary, this restaurant has great potential, and with a few tweaks, it could be even better. I'll definitely be back for that sausage and...
Read more9/2022 Overall, it is still a much needed and not terribly bad option bar-wise in the area, and the food is very basic but good. I'm guessing he's having the same type of problems everyone else is having, and the dust needs to settle. I've been a couple of times, and the service at the bar is good. They seem to do a significant amount of takeout, which is good as the place fills up quickly. Professionally speaking, if the design of the space, especially the podium, was a little different, I think they could facilitate much more volume. No Anheuser Busch products on tap either. Oh, well. I do wish them much success, and given the size, it looks like they'll be okay. Wish the bathroom had a door for the toilet, too. This isn't a dormitory setting. Give them a try for yourself as I see reviews are all over the map. That's usually a negative indicator, but like I said, it's still a decent and much needed option in the area.
5/2024 Pizza by the slice isn't bad, and the salads are heavy. I sit at the bar. The crowd tends to be a mix. I always get the feeling that it's a place that's almost ideal, just not quite right now, at least. A fee shortcomings but still a viable...
