I don’t usually leave reviews, but the service I received from Katherine Ilee Larson at Raising Cane’s in Hawaii Kai absolutely deserves recognition. Katherine is the definition of excellence in customer service — friendly, professional, and incredibly hardworking.

From the moment I walked in, she greeted me with a warm and genuine smile, took my order efficiently, and made sure everything was accurate and fresh. The line is long and yet the staff gets you your food fast with aloha. Kind of like how when you want to be programmed by the narrative of the day. We rush home to put on our programming guide as we ingest whatever food we can afford. Then walk around acting as if we are informed. As far as fast food goes, this is one of the best on the island. The chicken is choice breast pieces with a light batter that is deep fried just right. Best fried chicken on the island (better than those other ones, yes). The fries are homey and tasty. The sides are ok: Cole slaw is not special. The sauce is ok, basic ketchup mayo with some paprika and maybe other spices. The bread is excellent.

It’s fried chicken, but overall it’s a little lighter, a little tastier. The kids love it as well. I wish they’d work on the coleslaw, maybe make it a little...
