A Disappointing Experience, Saved Only by the Manager’s Grace

It is not my habit to leave unfavorable reviews, but our visit to Sammy’s Bar & Grill warrants an honest account. We arrived with simple expectations: a pleasant meal and a welcoming atmosphere. Regrettably, what we encountered was far from that.

My uncle — a respectful, older gentleman — politely asked the waitress if he might use a phone charger. The response he received was dismissive, laced with unwarranted attitude. Rather than extend courtesy, the staff offered condescension. It was disheartening.

As for the food, it was lackluster — forgettable in both flavor and presentation. Certainly not the fare one might hope for at an establishment bearing the name “grill.”

Yet amidst the discourtesy and disappointment, one individual stood apart: the manager. He handled the situation with dignity and professionalism. Recognizing our discomfort, he kindly took care of the bill — a gesture we deeply appreciate and do not take lightly.

To him, we offer our sincere thanks. But to the rest of the staff, a reminder: hospitality is not merely a job — it is a standard of grace and service.

We shall not return, but we do leave with gratitude for the one who tried to...

AVOID AT ALL COST! This restaurant is an absolute joke and a waste of time and money!! I’ve been flying at least once a month for the past 2 years now and this is the only restaurant near my terminal. They never fail to make me feel like I’m unwanted and completely ostricized. I’m only posting this now cause I’m sick of their laziness. The servers will walk past you pretending your not their, serving everyone else until you either start to look around angrily or until you hear your flights is about to board then when someone does talk to you it’s always “kitchen is backed up” or “we’re about to close so order something now” AND TO TOP IT OFF!! if you do get lucky enough to have a meal on time before your flight takes off, the food isn’t worth the price they’re asking for. If you can’t handle your business during a full house and you can’t give customers the decency to at least acknowledge there presents they you shouldn’t be running a restaurant. Especially In an airport, where people’s time is very valuable and i its very noticeable that the staff at the restaurant will always help the “locals” before they help...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sammy’s Beach Bar and Grill, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the avocado tacos, which I highly recommend to anyone visiting.

The tacos were a delightful combination of flavors and textures. The soft taco shells were filled with creamy, luxurious, and velvety avocados that added a rich and satisfying texture to each bite. Topped with crumbled cheese, fresh green leaves, and a tangy red salsa, every element came together perfectly. The accompanying tortilla chips were crispy and perfect for scooping up any extra fillings.

A special shoutout to Amanda, my waitress, who made the experience even more enjoyable. Despite being incredibly busy, she managed to serve with a cool, calm demeanor and a warm smile. Her hard work and sweet nature did not go unnoticed and added a personal touch to the dining experience.

Overall, Sammy’s Beach Bar and Grill is a must-visit if you're in terminal C at Honolulu airport, especially for those avocado tacos and the excellent service provided by Amanda. I can’t wait to...

I was surprised. Really good for airport food. I wish I remembered our server's name, but she was really nice and a pro. She had 3 customers when we got there but by the time we left, it seemed like she was managing a dozen tables. My sister had the fish tacos (amazing) and I had the chicken club, which was delicious. Give it a try in you're near gate C2 😉

Very little vegetarian options (I'm not even talking vegan) The salad had a taste like it's not fresh at all & had a lot of water on the plate) The "loaded fries" without meat are literally JUST fries. Nothing of those vegetables & souces were there. Plates are big, that's nice. The waiter tries to upsell you VERY much. Hella expensive for what you get
