started off on a bad foot because of the host. my husband, 3.5 yr old and i were in line so i was able to watch the tables for a while. i noticed that one of the bottom honey comb booths seemed to be close to finished eating. so when it was our time to get seated i asked about the comb seating and if there would be one opening soon. he instantly says "you can't sit there because of the baby" which confused me because i saw a small child sitting in the bottom honey comb, which is what i was referring to, because im not an idiot, even though i have an extremely well behaved 3 yr old, still would be risky to sit him in the upstairs comb seating. and when i tried to emphasize that i was asking about the BOTTOM comb, he wouldn't let me get a word in so i cut him off and said "it's okay" to which he STILL kept on about my "baby" not being able to sit up there so i said "it's okay" two more times. waiter was cool, atmosphere was cool but wayyyy more busy "go go go" than what i thought it would be. i got the #6 and it was delicious. husband got #2 and was also delicious. VERY flavorful but a little too greasy if i'm honest. noodles were cooked perfect. we did the upgrade combo with the pork bun and thai tea & lemonade. pork buns were good but one came out with mostly fat and that's kinda gross. we had to ask for the tea/lemonade because they forgot about them but it was worth the wait because they were both delicious! the thai tea is well balanced and the lemonade has some cucumber infused in it which made it very smooth. edamame was good, not my favorite because i'm a classic salt girl but it's good. at the end we ordered a brown sugar boba which took a while to get to us, it's VERY sweet and tiny. i'll have to wait until i'm home to add some milk to it before i can really drink it and i have an 80 min drive home 🥲 we'll come back WITHOUT our child to MAYBE get a chance to get a honey comb seat, which is a literal highlight of this spot, the main attraction that made me want to try them. hopefully that host won't be working that day, or at least not speak...
Read moreMy wife and I recently had lunch here after being recommended by a friend. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice and a welcome change to other styles of restaurants in Birmingham. That being said, the menu is not very friendly to those that do not eat pork. For appetizers, we had the chili edamame and the chicken bao buns and they were great. We decided to get the classic omurice without the sauces (both demiglace and curry contain pork). While eating the rice, we were surprised to find meat in the fried rice after being told it only contained vegetables. We were informed it was chicken. I ate most of my dish, but my wife after the previous confusion among staff about what contains pork she was hesitant and barely ate. With our meal, we enjoyed the amazing lemonade and Thai tea both of which were very good. After eating, we spoke with the manager and she spoke with the kitchen again about which items contain pork and she informed us that both the chicken and vegetable ramen were pork-free. They then told us the curry sauce for the omurice did not contain pork for today, but they were unsure if in the future it would be made with it. The manager attempted to assuage our feelings of concern over what contained pork. She states that they will be replacing the menus to inform what contains pork and they will try to add a pork free sauce for the omurice. Before leaving, we also tried the passion fruit tea and it was very good and one of the best things we had there. We will be sure to inform friends to do their due diligence and ask before assuming a dish...
Read moreThis restaurant is nestled in the Inverness corners shopping center, and it looks like they did an awesome job converting the place from the previous tenants. They offer a super authentic ramen experience from the moment you walk in! It has a warm and inviting atmosphere, with awesome decor, and of course the HONEY COMB WALL! Plus the awesome tree that you can hang little notes on! The scene really looks wonderful!
Now the food and drinks are top notch. Immediately to your right on entering is a cute little boba tea station, and you can get tasty treats! We found it super convenient because we hit the lunch rush and had about 30 minutes of wait. But the wait seemed to fly by, and when we were seated service was fast and efficient. They use buttons to Paige servers, and the system worked perfectly.
The menu has a wide variety of options, all of which looked super tasty! I went with the chicken ramen and it was DELICIOUS. We also got some wonderful lemonade! We also did an appetizer of the pan fried dumplings, which were delicious!
Overall I’d say this place is perfect for a nice outing, maybe even a cute date spot, and fun for kids and family too! The food really was tasty and fast, and the service was excellent. Lunch hour is really busy so expect a bit of a wait if you are looking for that, but otherwise it’s a...
