Update: On Tuesday, December 21, 2021 I had a Birthday party for my friends but do to miscommunication and accidents on the highway only one made it. I order the chicken and the waffles and they were individually placed in my container and I really like that way. Because you get to see the whole half chicken and the meat was juicy, tender, fresh, and the skin was crispy. But, it wasn’t seasoned as good as it could have been. But, the sweet and spicy sauce made up for it.
However, I suggest you get an extra one to dip the chicken into. As you can see from the pictures that I receive size chicken pieces, just look at the breast. I give it 3.5 stars ⭐️ and the waffle was soft and spongy. It was Okay. But, I would suggest if you put it in the microwave make sure to do 17 seconds or less otherwise it’s going to be very hard. I give it 3 ⭐️. You get one waffle with powdered sugar, strawberry cream and syrup. I suggest putting the toppings on the side.
Next, I give Mark 5 stars ⭐️ he helped me decorate my tables for the party and later helped me take all my food and items back to my car. He was very courteous and helpful too me. But, I really liked getting a military discount off my order. I give that 5 stars ⭐️.
Also, my waiter David, was a very attentive, friendly, he smiled a lot and I had fun with him. I give him 4.5 stars ⭐️ because there was no biscuits in my Charleston Shrimp and Grits. I was disappointed that I had no biscuits in my order.
The Shrimp and Grits were good but they need to put more sauce. Because it’s not enough. The shrimp as you can see was plump and juicy. But, it needs more shrimp and sauce. However, I do love the seasoning that they use in it . But, it still wasn’t as good as I received 10 months ago. I give it 3.5 stars ⭐️.

My Sister Cynthia went to Metro Dine me the Charleston Shrimp and Grits, Biscuit and the Warm Bread Pudding topped with a Strawberry Short Cake Glaze, Fresh Strawberries and whipped cream. She Blessed me with this Beautiful Lunch for Valentines Day. I’m so happy to have her in my life. The waitress Ann that took our order was polite and professional to.
Also, did you know you can get 50% off on your next Entree when you join the Metro Club E? Plus, Military get a Military Discount so bring your ID, DD214, or whatever shows your Military. 🤩🤩
Now, let’s get down to it! The Charleston Shrimp and Grits were AMAZING! 😱😱😱😱 I tell you they put nice pieces of Plump Pawn Shrimp, and the shrimp cream sauce is so very tasty and when you dip into the fried grits with all that fresh roasted red peppers and tender andouille sausage that is Oh! Oh! Sooo Good! Your going to love this delicious Charleston Shrimp and Grits! GO AND GET YOURS! 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️
Next, for the Bread Pudding was a good nice size as you can see in my pictures below. However, the Strawberry Short Cake glaze, with Strawberries and whipped cream was very disappointing. There was not enough glaze, no whipped cream and as you can see very little strawberries. I give it a 3 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️Only!
You know, I have yet to find a restaurant that has the old fashioned homemade white or yellow glaze to drizzle all over the Bread Pudding. But, when I do I will let you guys know. It would be nice if they would realize that Bread Pudding doesn’t need all these extra flavors, fruit and cream all it needs is to stay the traditional way. Because it’s tastes so much better and they would sell so much more if they did. Sometimes, you don’t need to change what’s already good as is. All you need to do is just keep the Original and then have other Bread Pudding flavors for those who what change.
But, for me Old School is the best! Old fashioned Homemade Bread Pudding with Homemade White glaze or yellow glaze is the Best when made the right way.
Now, go get your Charleston Shrimp and Grits. You’re going to LOVE IT!...
Read moreWow wow wow !!!!! Ok where do I start!? If you follow my reviews ,IF I LEAVE A 5 STAR IT IS WELL DESERVED !!!!! I've only been here once yearss ago and had the most basic meal . This time , blew my socks off . I am a certified breakfast foodie ,I loveeee it so much . Every time my homegirl comes to visit from Atlanta we make it a point meet for breakfast or brunch . She called and told me she was headed to Metro Diner ,I was a little weary because the name gives Ms. FRIZZLE vibes 😂 I don't know how to explain it it just gives me , old coffee vibes but was I wrong .
We were greeted by our waitress Anne . The menu is extensive and lots of options . I'm a creature of habit and normally always go with the same dish at restaurants I frequent however I'm not familiar with this eatery . We looked at the chalk board that was covered with Drink specials ,dishes of the day. At the top read " Maple Bacon waffle " ... this sold me . I decided to get a breakfast plate ,it started with a B ( first breakfast plate) It consisted of two eggs ,bacon ,hash or grits ,bread of choice . I ordered Two scrambled eggs well with cheddar cheese, hash with onions , bacon well done and a whole Maple bacon waffle ... added Pico to top on my eggs.
YALLLLLLLLL, First let me state , u must have a sweet tooth to devour this waffle . It's topped with chopped bacon , the softest butter , topped with some cream cheese drizzle ,topped with maple syrup ! Yalllllll I swear it was like a desert for breakfast. The eggs were fluffy . I'm very particular about my eggs , did need a little salt and pepper ,bland without it but the texture was just right. I assumed I would get two strips of bacon... honey they brought put ma piggy and porky pig PILED HIGH !!!!I love a piece of bacon with every bite !!!! The hash was delicious with the added eggs and salsa.
I have my go to breakfast spots in Birmingham, thus eatery has been added to my go to must eats !
I could go on and on and on . I have a free desert for my birthday and I can't wait to go back ! 5/5 10/10 stars...
Read moreMy family and I have eaten here a lot and was always pleased with great service, attentive staff, and a server who always kept our drinks full. We came to eat here for Father’s Day since my dad loves this place and the excellent service we had in the past. On Father’s Day we got seated fairly quickly. Our server on the other hand was awful. I don’t even know why she works there. She never refilled our drinks we actually had to ask one of the staff members congregating at the drink station to refill our drinks. Instead she was busy sitting at the table where presumably her boyfriend was at. She sat down was all over him with another server presumably her friend was sitting at the same table. Our server never checked on us while we were eating. If she had she would have known I needed something that was left out of my order. Again, had to ask another server. We had stacked our dishes when done eating at the end of the table and our overly emptied glasses and waited for our check for a good 30 mins. All while seeing our server talking to numerous staff members and hanging out at the host station talking to her friend when her boyfriend left. Needless to say, our server missed out on a good tip and left a note on the receipt stating if she wasn’t to busy talking to her friends and refilled our drinks she would have gotten a tip. I have worked as a server before and I understand they are overworked. It would have been different if we saw her busting her butt and doing anything but socialize with her work staff. After that experience we will not be returning here again. As a server before I expect certain things to be done for customers. Drink refills is the number 1 thing to a...
