Mellow Mushroom Hoover — Restaurant in Hoover

My family decided we would try Mellow Mushroom so we went to the Inverness location. We we’re told it was a 30 to 40 minute wait and we chose to wait. We were seated in about 20 minutes so that was a plus. Our waitress was friendly and immediately took our drink and appetizer order. We did have to flag her down to get extra sauce and refills. Waited a good hour after eating our appetizer before we got our pizza. I asked what was taking so long and was told there was some confusion in the kitchen. We noticed several people in their groups that came in after us seated got their pizza and was leaving before we got our pizza. The pizza is probably a 6 out of 10 and I will not be going back. I didn’t complain or blame the waitress but someone dropped the ball on our order but I do feel that a discount or the appetizer should have been taken off of our bill. We did get a thank you for being patient but that was it. I do blame the waitress for not letting us know our order was not put in and for not checking on us regularly but I still tipped. I waited my whole lunch break for them to give my pizza to the wrong table and then I had to go back to work. The bartender took my order and brought me my drink pretty quickly.Then, After 45 minutes, and watching the people who came in after me get my pizza, I was told that my pizza would be ready in just a minute. I told her that I had to get back to work soon, and she told me that she would go ahead and box up my pizza for me. Then, with just 10 minutes left on my lunch hour, I was told that my pizza, that I painstakingly waited on for nearly an hour, was given to the wrong table. I have no idea how that could even happen. She apologized, but didn’t really offer much in terms for compensation for the fact that I was about to go most of the day with nothing on my stomache since breakfast. The restaraunt was almost empty, so I have no idea why they took so long or how they messed that up. It completely ruined my day. This easily the worst experience that I’ve had at a restaurant in years. Save yourself some trouble and go to Salvatore’s, Capella’s, or literally any other pizza place on 280… Especially if you’re on your...

We called ahead to make sure they could seat our party of 6 (one in a wheelchair), then arrived to a less than half full restaurant. We sat and waited for about 15m, and nobody came to take our order despite 2 trips to ask about service. After waiting a few minutes longer, we inquired again about having someone take our order. At that point, the young lady at the counter literally told us they were just too busy and we should leave. So we did, and will never return. Horrible to treat customers this way, likely to spend at least $200. This Mellow Mushroom is permanently off our list. UPDATE: Mellow Mushroom did us a great favor refusing to serve us! We decided to try Slice, just 7 minutes away. Despite being much busier, we were seated & served very quickly. The service at Slice was friendly & efficient.
