On Tap Sports Cafe - Inverness/280 — Restaurant in Hoover

The absolute worst experience I have ever had at a bar. The 1st 3 beers I tried to order were all out, then when I did finally, reluctantly agree on a beer it took 35 minutes to get my beer on a Tuesday night when there was almost no one in the bar. After my 1st beer I tried to order 2 more which were both also out. I was with 2 other people and none of us were able to order the 1st 2 beers that we tried to order and at no time were we offered the opportunity for a reduced rate beer or an opportunity to make up for the absolutely crappy experience that we had. This was my 1st time to ever go to an On Tap location and it will most certainly be my last. Almost $40 for 3 beers that I didn't even really want is absolutely ridiculous with no kind of offer from the manager or the establishment to try in make up for the absolutely ridiculous night that they provided. To sit at a bar for 35 minutes without being served your drink when there are no more than 15 other people in the bar is beyond ridiculous. This location is very different from the Liberty Park location. The Liberty Park location feels like a nice restaurant that has a bar. The Inverness location feels like a rundown bar that serves a little bit of food. It seems like the local Cheers. There was a sign saying "seat yourself" so we did. A few minutes later my husband caught the eye of a server and she brought us menus. My husband ordered a cheeseburger and I ordered a Philly cheese steak sandwich both with tater tots. The food was excellent! The sauce for the tater tots has some kick but was really good. My Philly cheese steak sandwich was delicious and my husband's burger was huge. The place could be spruced up a little but it's worth a stop...

This was my second visit here, I stop in whenever I visit Birmingham from Florida since I usually stay in this area & it’s close by. Each time I always sit at the bar & have consistently received a warm welcome & excellent service from both Dani & this time SK… they are both amazing & have great memories as I hear them personally addressing all the regulars & knows exactly what they’re drinking. The food is always really delicious also. I can’t compare it to another location as this is the only one I know and will be back to visit next time I’m in town!
