Me and my husband have been regular shoppers at Home Depot the last year while building a house. We recently had an unacceptable experience. We went to the store, picked out our carpet and ordered it. They were having a deal where as long as you buy by a certain time, they would install it before Christmas. It was scheduled to be delivered and to be installed on 12/13 between 12:00 and 3:00. Around 3:00, one of the guys from PRESTIGE FLOORING (which is the 3rd party) called and said that they were running late and that it would be closer to 5 before they arrived. My husband told him that we would need to probably reschedule because the lights had not been cut on yet and it would be dark. The guy from prestige flooring said that they had to install, that they would do it with flash lights. They finally show up and one of the guys stayed out side and the other went up stairs to look over both rooms. He started flipping the light switch on and off. My husband asked what he was doing because we had told them on the phone that we did not have lights upstairs. He said that we did not tell him that and that he did not tell us that he would use flash lights. He basically told us that we made that story up. He started cussing at us and told us that he would not be coming back to install our carpet until we poured our driveway (which is in great condition). I have never dealt with such poorly customer service. We did call customer service and we did call Prestige Flooring shortly after they left leaving marks in the gravel from leaving so fast. Both said that they would follow up and make sure that everything was taken care of. Neither of them took care of anything. It will be a week Friday, we finally was able to call and get a refund. We will not be ordering from them again....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe employees at this location are helpful and nice, however we purchased carpet from the Sylacauga Home Depot in December 2022 for our home, this came with included installation and removal of the old carpeting. The carpet was installed the day the arctic blast hit. While his crew was installing the carpeting, the lead of the installation crew said he couldn't take away the old carpeting because he "only took what we can resell, Home Depot should have told you that." We spoke to Nik from the flooring sales team and asked about the removal of the old carpeting and she said they couldn't remove it that day because their van was full as they had another job to do later that day. Their van was empty, I looked. We asked for a reschedule for pick up of the old carpeting and was told we would be called to schedule it. We never received a call. I called the location and spoke to someone on the sales team and was told we would definitely be called back to reschedule, but she needed to speak to the installation crew first. She called back and said the installation crew said the carpet was soaked with pet urine so they wouldn't take it and they'd told us that already. I told her she was misinformed, we had a professional carpet cleaner clean the carpet 2 works prior and they specifically went over the carpeting with a black light and found no evidence or urine. Additionally, this was the third different excuse they'd come up with. She said she'd call her manager and let us know. We have never heard back, and this is now the middle of February. We've spent thousands at this Home Depot in only a couple of months after buying our home. But never again. It's clear they don't stand by their word and will not honor their contracts....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI bought an Echo SRM-225 gas trimmer back in April 2019 from this Home Depot. I used it once and all was good. The second time I tried to use it, it started fine but would die when applying throttle. After covering all the basics, I decided to take it back to Home Depot for either exchange or repair. It was now July, so I had it for a little over three months. I was informed that an exchange was out of the question because it was beyond 30 days. The lady also told me that any carb issue was not covered. At this point I became very upset. I know that the carb is an emissions part and is covered for 5 years. I was also sure that this was a carb issue. After some thought, I decided to leave it for the mechanic to look at. Thatās when they hit me with a $15 diagnostic charge! I said that the trimmer was under full warranty and there was no way I was paying. The manager replied, āthatās our processā. Itās your āprocessā to sell equipment with full warranties and then charge them for a warranty repair, while claiming that the likely problem is the carb and carbs are āneverā covered? Give me a break. Clearly this place has no idea what they are doing or they are shaking customers down for money if they want their Echo equipment sent in for repair. I wonder what Echo has to say about this? I flatly declined to pay, and took my trimmer home. After watching a YouTube video, I adjusted the jet on the carb and now it runs like a top. I voided the warranty in the process, but it seems that Home Depot doesnāt honor it anyway. Never...
