I’ve been visiting the Arlington for over fifty years. I love having a cocktail on the veranda and watching the world go by - or sitting under that classic mural in the lobby. This year I had the rudest bartender I’ve ever met (it was NOT Apryl). I’ve drunk at bars all over the world and encountered every type of bartender. But this middle-aged egotist is by far the rudest and most inept. I expressed my displeasure in writing to both Alan Sims, the General Manager, and to Albert Arjabi, principal of the owners, but have received no reply. Read moreThe Arlington is historic. It has been well-maintained. I went to a free event where a performer sang. It was incredible. Her name is Sylvia Stems and she was dressed in 1930s era clothing. She was so good that two elderly couples got up and began dancing! I couldn't believe it. I thought that was awesome. The drinks were reasonably prices and delicious. The staff were very nice. I enjoyed the experience so well that I have been checking back to see when the next event will be. I'm hoping to see the same performer because she seemed to draw in a lot of people- a few who we know, too....
