I think this place has some serious potential but they need to run a tighter ship; it's in a strip mall with Chik-Fil-A, China Stix, Panera Bread, and an entire giant food store, Randall's, all of whom it's competing with. Act like it!!!!!
I came in on a lark since I had been craving Mexican. I ordered the Camarones al Diablo and because Mexican takes a little while to prepare, a margarita to sip on while I waited (I made this clear). The margarita came with my food so I was left with a choice: chug the whole thing and look like a nutjob, take it home with me and drink it with all the ice melted, or drink it outside and break the law. I walked outside and threw it in the trash. So long $11, I barely knew you.
I get home and eat. The portion sizes were shockingly small! My all-time favorite Mexican place is in Seattle, a CRAZY high cost-of-living city, and the same amount of money there would have gotten me an enormous plate that I probably couldn't finish, whereas this time I was still left a little hungry.
The shrimp were fine (tail-on for some reason so I couldn't just shovel the food in my mouth) and so was the rice although the dish lacked any level of heat (despite the name, al diablo; we should be so lucky that the devil is so mild hahaha). The grilled vegetables were perfect. The tortillas were excellent. The refried beans were good but I got what looked like an entire entree order of them; why? It was like a small bucket. The tortillas were great but the salsa included was VERY finely blended and almost watery; I wound up enjoying it less than the stuff you get in a glass jar.
I sincerely hate leaving bad reviews so I'll probably give these guys another shot but man, what a disappointing first impression. I don't think this was worth a little over $40 (including a 25% tip for those wondering if I got bad service because I'm...
Read moreI’ve been coming to Antonio’s for years because it’s near my work. The food is always good, but that’s not why I am giving a poor rating. Recently I purchased a coupon book to support local high school cheerleaders in my neighborhood. I was excited to see an Antonio’s coupon. The coupon stated purchase LUNCH or DINNER main course get a second free LUNCH or DINNER main course of equal or lesser value - maximum $12. It also said excludes specials and one coupon per table. Specials are written on a chalkboard at the front. Both the server and the manager tried to tell my colleague who wanted to order from the lunch menu that she could not because the other two of us were using the coupon and it was one coupon table. It’s like their perception was that the lunch menu counted as a coupon (but it does not and the coupon didn’t say that). They made me and my other colleague order from the full price menu to use the coupon even though it clearly states LUNCH or DINNER in caps on the coupon. Fine, whatever, but then they continued to argue about the one person who wanted lunch menu. We settled by agreeing to pay separately (not sure how this solved anything.) I finally cooled down from being frustrated and when I went to pay the waitress felt the need to show me the coupon and say “see it says one coupon per table.” I was baffled. I was like you still aren’t getting it. I won’t be back again if they are going to put this much energy into arguing over a coupon when they were wrong. I’ve never seen anything like it. The money wasn’t even the issue. It was the principle that they didn’t understand what the coupon said and no where did it say the lunch menu was considered a “coupon”. Can we all agree that lunch menus are not coupons, that a coupon is a piece of paper or an app that you show with a specific...
Read moreHaven't been here since I first started my current job like 15 years ago when a few of us came while on lunch break. OMG idk why I haven't been back bcz this evening's welcoming service and scrumptiously delicious meal were perfect. Both waitresses were so warm and friendly, and sitting there, you can tell the community loves them and they love the community.
Idk how I read the menu wrong and thought i saw and ordered stuffed avocado, but I guess the positive energy in this place knew exactly what I really needed. I was expecting a stuffed fried avocado but when my dinner arrived looking picture perfect, there was no way I wasn't going to enjoy it. It's not very often that I come across a Mexican food establishment that doesn't need a few shakes of salt to bring out the flavors. Antonio's didn't need any at all! Every item was flavored just right (chef's kiss), and the textures and consistencies were oh so nice. Oh, and they have these different flavors of hot sauce on the tables. LET ME TELL YOU!! The Mango Habenero and Papaya Habenero were the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. I can't wait to go back and try more on their menu. Oh, and I was going to see if I could buy a bottle of each hot sauce, but the manager told the waitress to give them to me complimentary. My heart was so surprised and filled with gratitude of such a...
