First timer visiting any Snooze location and now I know what all the fuss is about! Absolutely amazing taste profiles on what was ordered (Shrimp & Grits, Crab Cake Benedict and Blueberry Danish Pancake) during this "soft opening weekend". I believe their grand opening at this new West University Snooze (3191 W. Holcombe Rd) is set for Wednesday March 22, 2023. The place was packed of course and it seemed everyone, both customers & staff, were happy and all smiles. After being greeted by hosts stationed inside the front door and getting seated, service was very very attentive and the restaurant took this opportunity to do extensive training for all employees including the bar area, dining area and kitchen. My table host today was Peyton aka "P" and she did an amazing job as did certainly the kitchen! Once your food arrives to the table, you'll realize right away that you are definitely NOT at a Denny's (thank goodness) or IHOP! The menu options, the plating & presentation of the dishes as well as the incredible flavor profiles say it all. The pricing and value are very much comparable to what you get and well worth the experience. I know I'll be back and quite often! Snooze also made sure that this entire 3 day soft opening also benefits Ronald McDonald House Houston and Periwinkle who are Community Partners and will receive donations throughout the weekend in the restaurant as well as online via QR code. Idk if they take reservations but if they do, I strongly recommend it. Time for others to...
Read moreServer was awesome and sweet. Was helping every table as she was the only in the morning so props to her. EXPRESSO martini was SO GREAT! Had to personally tell bartender myself.
This is my third time trying snooze food. First time trying drinks.
Tried the chilaquiles this time and was disappointed. They were so soggy due to the salsa and beans in the middle instead evenly distributed. The outside area was a lot more crunchier. Felt like I was eating nachos. The in house peppers is fighting with the salty flavor and gave such a bitter taste. I left my food there. Ate around it and only ate the meat I ordered and some of the chips. I paid for what I ordered but something to maybe update or change on this menu item, bc the mixture of the food is NOT IT.
Also, I asked the person closing the blinds to leave mine open, since I came in to sit next to the window and watch the sunrise. I told her to keep it open but she said the sun was coming up and would “blind people.” But the beauty of this location is that the sun is meant to come in and hit us to wake us up. I left about 5 mins after she closed the blinds since it darkened the room. So kinda felt like she ruin the morning with the closure. They turned the lights on but again, the beauty of today was to see the sunrise here and enjoy the sun on my face...
Read moreI ordered the house made french toast with straw berries. I like it 50%. Because the vanilla cream was so sweet. The french toast should be crunchy from the outside which was not true for this one. And they said fresh strawberries will come with the plate but it was less than one strawberry. I ordered one caramel latte as well. My order was 21.75$ at the end. Which is a lot for this quality. And also when you have these high prices, at least be generous with fruit or the side. About the service 2 points was noted from my side: The server didn’t bring any water and even didn’t ask that if I want water or not. Without me asking she brought the check while my order has been brought only 10 mins ago and I wasn’t done even with half of the plate. Also there were plenty of empty seats available so there was no urge for me to go that soon. At least she could mention “take as much time as you want” and she didn’t even bother saying that. I don’t find this behavior from the server respectful.
Never gonna try this place again and tell my friends who live near this place not...
