@China Stix put me in a food coma last night and I’m not just making this up. This is my new place when I’m craving Chinese food. It’s cost effective. They serve fresh protein and veg. I still have left overs for tonight 😂💯🔥 -25 Years in Houston -Offers fast Chinese Cuisine -Made fresh with fresh ingredients -China Stix is in the Medical Center and Rice University area -Locally owned and managed -Offer dine in, take out, and fast, free delivery The quality and taste of their Chinese food rivals any national chain and lots of 5 star hotels -They only use fresh, white meat chicken in our chicken menu offerings -Fresh vegetables daily #Underrated #chinesefood #wontons #foodcritic #foodreview #wok #latenightfood

This was our first time eating there, but we heard some decent things about it, so we decided to give it a try. The staff was polite, so they weren't the issue. We got there at about 9pm to order take out. We ordered kung pao chicken with fried rice and curry chicken with white rice and a hot & sour soup. The order came out super quick (like 5 minutes or less), which should have been an indicator. The fried rice came out burnt and honestly kinda flavorless. The curry chicken was really bland, and the curry was really watery. It almost looked like broth instead of curry with about very little chicken and mostly (90%+) vegetables. The kung pao chicken was bland with no hint of spice whatsoever. The hot & sour soup was VERY salty and not hot, only sour. The only thing that was decent was the plain white rice and the cold Vietnamese rolls...and that's a shame. By the time we got home it was too late to try to return anything because they close at 9:30pm. Even now the food remains largely uneaten. We spent over $30 for dinner and we are blatantly unsatisfied. I really hope this bad experience was a one-off and other customers get much better quality food here. Unfortunately, we don't have any plans to return here, nor will we recommend it to our friends or acquaintances.

I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and food at China Stix. Once inside everyone is taking Covid-19 precautions, they are constantly cleaning, and the staff are working over and above to get you in and out quickly. I counted 10 people behind the visible counter (see photo - four cooks/prep, three bagging/plating, two working the tills, one constantly cleaning), and the food comes out hot and quick - I've yet to be more than ten minutes from walking in the door, and back out again with hot, fresh food. The quality of the food is excellent. A dinner order of sweet and sour chicken was enough to re-plate and feed two people easily, plus they offer combo deals with soup and spring rolls every lunchtime. A very thin crispy batter, well-cooked moist chicken, sauce on the side, and perfect steamed rice. Highly recommend, and my grateful thanks for their efforts to feed us during these unprecedented times.

The food is fantastic, but the service lacks attention to detail. On my first order, they forgot both my drinks and the extra sauce I requested. I ordered 12 wings, cream cheese wontons, a small fry, and a large fried rice, and they gave me two packs of duck sauce, two packs of soy sauce, one and a half ounces of sweet-and-sour sauce and two packs of ketchup. That is unacceptable for $50 worth of food, especially when I explicitly requested extra duck and soy sauce. Please google what a 1 ounce cup of sauce looks like. It’s not even big enough to dip the wonton into, I have to pour it. The first time I thought one of them being full and one of them being half full was an accident, but the second time I realized they are intentionally giving you one and a half ounces of sweet-and-sour sauce which is not nearly enough. After placing a second order, I called to make sure they included the drinks from last time and extra duck and soy sauce. They included the drinks and extra soy sauce but they neglected the extra duck sauce I asked for and didn't include a single pack. Not one. I still had 6 wings left that I was counting on that duck sauce to eat. I even left a note in the order in addition to the call, and they still missed it. Despite enjoying the fried rice and chicken wings, the overall experience is marred by these details. The wonton soup disappointed me as it was served with dry chow mein noodles instead of fried wontons, making it a one-time order. That part was honestly just insulting. Moreover, the $5.49 small to-go box of fries is overpriced and not fully filled. The fries are regular, unseasoned crinkle cut fries that they only fill up 80% of the way in a small to go box yet they cost $5.50 on Uber eats, which is enough to get a whole bag of crinkle cut fries from the grocery store. They should be three dollars max. I can’t imagine these are being ordered much for that reason, because I personally would’ve ordered two had they been reasonably priced. While I like the place, improvements in service are necessary. I do plan on giving them one more chance because this is definitely some of the better Chinese food in Houston but they need to get it together quickly and stop being so stingy with the sauce. The one and a half miniature cups of sweet-and-sour sauce with the cream cheese wontons is just cheap. As previously stated, the wonton won’t even fit in the cup smh. I’m not cheap and I don’t mind paying for good food but it needs to feel like I’m getting what I’m paying for and the attention to detail is lacking. But with all of that being said, this is the best fried rice I’ve had in Houston, and I will definitely be returning. I’ve had the shrimp and house fried rice and both are 10/10. The cream cheese wontons were very tasty outside of the sauce situation 8/10 with sauce. The fries were your regularly expected crinkle cut fries but I would order them again if they made the price more reasonable. The chicken wings were good, 7.5/10. They are the red fried chicken wings not the traditional carryout style wings, but still good. Better the second day than the first day for sure. They should let the temperature on the wings come up closer to room temp a bit more before they fry them so it’s not so tense the first day. I also wish they offered shrimp eggrolls (thick egg rolls, not thin spring rolls), not just pork, but that’s just a menu suggestion. Hopefully they can make some...

I have been frequenting China Stix for over six months now, and I can confidently say that it is an exceptional establishment that specializes in Chinese cuisine. This place deserves the highest rating of 5 stars. At China Stix, you can expect generous portions and the most mouthwatering Chicken Lo Mein with an extra kick of spiciness.

What sets China Stix apart is their meticulous attention to detail and their ability to satisfy even the heartiest appetites. Every time I order the Chicken Lo Mein, I am presented with an enormous plastic container brimming with succulent chicken and flavorful noodles. The taste is simply unforgettable! I particularly appreciate their willingness to adjust the spice level to suit my personal preference.

One of the aspects I adore about dining at China Stix is their flexibility in catering to individual preferences. As someone who prefers my dishes without vegetables, I am delighted that they always accommodate my request. The ability to customize my order allows me to enjoy the flavors I love without any unwanted ingredients.

China Stix has become a beloved weekly tradition for me. Their Chicken Lo Mein is a true culinary delight, especially when paired with a chilled cola and a French baguette from the nearby Randal's store. The combination of flavors creates an exquisite dining experience that I eagerly look forward to.

The restaurant ambiance at China Stix is welcoming and cozy, complemented by the friendly and attentive staff. Whether I choose to dine in or get takeout, the service is consistently excellent. The establishment maintains a clean and comfortable environment, ensuring that every visit is enjoyable.

In conclusion, China Stix is a hidden gem for lovers of Chinese cuisine. With their generous portions, delectable Chicken Lo Mein with customizable spiciness, and willingness to accommodate individual preferences, this establishment truly stands out. I highly recommend indulging in their offerings and relishing the flavors that will transport your taste buds to culinary bliss. China Stix is a must-visit destination for an exceptional Chinese...

Will never order from here again. Phoned in an order for carryout. I asked when I was given my bag if everything was in the bag, and was told yes it was ALL in the bag. Once at home I realized that not all of the items I paid for were in the bag. I called the store but no answer, they were closed. I called the next day and was given the run-around and lied to by the man that answered the phone. I was told he would have the manager call me by 1pm. I drove to the store and the person whom I spoke to on the phone lied to me again to say he was not the person I spoke to on the phone. He finally admitted that I did speak to him. I asked to speak to the manager and was told that he was not there. I asked if he would please get him on the phone. I wanted a refund for the items that I did not receive with my order. I was told that he could not give me a refund because the order was from yesterday. I told him I was not leaving the store until I either received my refund or spoke to a manager/owner. I needed to speak to someone in charge. He said he was in charge but he was not authorized to refund customers. After 25 minutes of waiting. He refunded my money. It should not be that difficult to obtain a refund from a business that did not fulfill a customer's order. Needless to say I will not be ordering from China...
