Very disappointing. Took my son here for his bday b/c he’s never tried authentic African food, especially fufu. So to start, Waze based on the address on Google took me to an apartment complex. Called the restaurant and was told to put in Delight’s Kitchen instead, so I did and eventually got there. Based on my call to them they are aware of this. But why not just have this updated on your profile with Google?…Anyways, got in and the place is very chic and well decorated. I actually like the aesthetics of the place. You can order by scanning QR code that’s on the table with your phone but I caution against this and here’s why. I was allowed to order and pay for food they did not have available. I wasn’t even told until after sitting for almost 15 mins after placing and paying for my food. My purchase was for $79 and I had to receive $23 cash refund for unavailable items. And to add to the disappointment the owner/manager seemed to have an attitude b/c we did not opt to take instead beef or fish pie for the missing items and wanted to be refunded. Versus being hospitable and apologetic for the obvious outpoint on their end I got attitude. They are also obviously short staffed b/c we sat for approximately 20 mins before we were asked if we’d placed our order and if we wanted anything while we were waiting. Of what they actually had we got the goat soup and fufu, goat jollof rice. The goat with the soup wasn’t bad at all but was over priced for 3 pieces of goat in soup. As stated the goat wasn’t bad at all but the jollof rice was not good at all. It tasted old, as if it was leftovers that sat in a refrigerator that’s not so clean b/c it tasted like it absorbed the flavors or scents from the refrigerator. It was not fresh and also had clumps of rice like it was recooked and over cooked. The fufu was a no go as well. Can’t really put my finger on it (no pun intended) but it was not as appetizing as fufu I’ve had in the past. It was so disappointing and not how I wanted to end an otherwise great birthday for my son. Now he says he never wants to try African food again. I hope he changes his mind b/c I’ve had some African foods including fufu that were amazing! I’m a glass half full type so I see the potential but they have to be willing to work and mitigate these outpoints. I guess that’s the beautiful thing about Houston, anybody with a dollar and a dream can own a business but also that’s the catch, that anybody can open a business and the saying if you want quality you have to pay for it doesn’t apply. Go at your own risk but you’ve been warned. 1/10 for food...

Read moreMy cousin was wanting to Terri something new. Be spine to my husband and decided to try some African. Now I was going to take them to my favorite spot on the Southwest “Chez Michele” for the grilled fish and plantains but it was a lil far, so I searched African restaurants nearest me and decided upon a Ghanaian restaurant instead of Nigerian. We were not expecting it to be so beautiful when we walked in 🤩👏🏾. It was clean, not too busy, and the aesthetic was giving…your aunties house if she was homestyle growing up. Music videos playing on the big screen and honestly the only reason it wasn’t 5 stars all across the board was because the waitress who took our order wasn’t making suggestions at all, she didn’t give excitement with what they have to offer on the menu, & once my cousin decided on what he wanted to order, she didn’t read it back to him & just took his card without telling him his total. She didn’t seem like she wanted to be there. I get it, most of these places are family owned, but when you have visitors that have never been there before, you should treat them like family and tell them some of your favorites so they’ll not just be picking whatever but something recommended. He got the goat meat, the jollof plain, & some kind of couscous ball. He liked it all. As a...
