I was in the middle of writing my review for this place when I went to check my bank statements so I could remember the price I paid and noticed that they had charged me twice: one charge for $14.32 and another for $12.45. I called to inquire about it and the girl who answered the phone stated that I would need to return to the shop to get the money put back onto my card that I had used. Luckily, I hadn't left my house yet when I received a phone call from the establishment informing me that the money was put back on my card and I would not need to return in person to fix the transaction. I assume this is because a manager was asked what to do about the situation after my initial phone call with one of the staff members which I feel like could've been avoided if a manager was initially told in the first place- not like it's a huge deal to me just as someone whose worked years in the customer service industry it's always better to ask a manager first to avoid confusion for the customer. If it hadn't been for my card being charged twice I would've given this place 5 stars. I just moved to this area of town and wanted to pick up some boba for me and my bf. Being Asian I'm pretty picky about my boba and saw the high ratings for this place and decided to give it a try. The atmosphere was very clean and aesthetically pleasing and their menu was conveniently displayed on a very large TV so it was easy to read. I will say I do wish that their menu had more flavor options but I was happy to see that they had a variety of different types of tea styles. I ordered the mango & passion fruit green tea with boba and lychee jelly for myself and the kiwi fruit tea with aloe vera and boba for my bf. My tea was very fresh tasting, the fruit flavor didn't have that gross artificial essence that can often happen with fruit teas, and the aromatics of the mango and passion fruit were very strong. I was also happy to see that this place doesn't drown their tea in a ridiculous amount of sugar or ice which was nice because at most boba shops I always have to ask for easy ice and less sugar. The boba was very fresh and you could tell that it had spent a good amount of time soaking in its syrup so every chew had that hint of sweetness to it. The lychee jelly had a great lychee flavor and also tasted very fresh without that syrupy or artificial taste you get at most boba places. All in all I would say this place definitely deserves the hype it has and the quality of tea is excellent. I'm glad I will not have to make a journey all the way to bellaire to have good quality boba. My actual total for the drinks turned out to be $12.45 which seems decently priced to me. I will definitely be returning to try the other flavors and styles they have but like I said I feel I must dock a star just for the fact that I was accidentally...
Read moreI’m beyond disappointed with this place. I’ve visited countless boba and food spots, but I’ve never experienced anything like this. I’m a UGC creator and was planning to create a free video for them because we were in the area. My daughter wanted boba, so I looked up a nearby spot, and this one came up.
From the moment I walked in, I felt unwelcome. Even though there were three staff members, I stood there waiting for 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. I’ve been to so many teahouses—Ding Tea is one of my favorites—and I’ve always been treated with kindness and respect.
Then, my 3-year-old daughter accidentally dropped her drink. I immediately felt terrible and apologized. I understand that accidents are frustrating, but the staff’s attitude was shocking. Instead of showing a little compassion, they were visibly annoyed and made us feel like we didn’t belong there. Kids will be kids, and I wasn’t expecting special treatment, but to be treated so rudely is unacceptable.
Customer service? 0/10. The drinks? 3/10—and that’s being generous. Their attitude? 0/10.
It was obvious they didn’t want to make the replacement drink. When I went up to ask politely if I could get a new one, they just glared at me and, with so much frustration, said, “We’ll do it once we clean this up…” I apologized again, trying to be understanding.
When they finally handed me the drink, the vibe was just cold—filled with attitude. The girls behind the counter looked like they couldn’t wait to be anywhere else.
I’ve never felt so unwanted at any boba or food spot. This experience was so upsetting, and I will never be coming...
Read moreActually went after a date requested we try. It was a lil hard to find, but I was grateful it wasn't in the high-end shopping pavilion one blk over-that was a Lamborghini/Porsche/Bugatti parking nightmare. Once, I found them it was so chill I was like this is going to be a good experience. The shop is small, long and rectangular (standard for small shops nowadays). Sadly, due to the pandemic they temporarily ONLY do takeout. First, place is popular (alot of foot traffic). I was also glad to see such a diverse customer base. The menu was slightly confusing if your not knowledgeable on the bubble tea world. But, that's where they shined. The staff answered all of my questions thoroughly and I felt more informed as they did so (always good to have the person selling you the product know more than "what size you want?" My experiences with bubble tea were frozen ice, but nothing here is blended. Its tea, milk & ice, along with flavors, & Tapioca/Boba. Please note they can adjust the sweetness of your drinks & the amount of ice & amoint of boba. Nothing special about that, but trust me you'll appreciate being able to adjust these as a rule, before you sheepishly ask- love options re food.
So, in conclusion this is a clean, welcoming place. The staff is genuinely friendly & invested. The prices are on par with the local coffee chains-fair for what you get & how it can be truly tailored to your taste. So, Hella Bubble gets my highest recommendation.
BTW, its a great first date spot & there's a nice park w seating right across the street. Again, great...
