I think it's same problem as many other long established eateries. It's the memories of what use to be great, masked by nostalgia, that has allowed so many of these places to slip in quality. Goes without saying, the ambience is not the same as the old Le peeps. For sure the food quality is not what it use to be, but unfortunately we didn't know until it was brought to our table. I ordered the eggs Benedict. No potatoes substituted with strawberries on the side. First off the sauce was runny and looked splochy. I cut into eggs and the yolk bled all out like a waterfall. Hollandaise tasted like it had curdled. Waitress was super nice, even before, during the whole ordering process. She took it away, later to come back and tell me that the chef said that is how it is served, and No one has ever complained about it, but if I would like I could order something else. I am particular about my eggs, I do not like them overcooked, or runny. I prefer them over medium well. This is why I get poached eggs, because not to many cooks know how to make a fried egg over medium well. At this point I had lost my confidence in their abilities, and my appetite. Partially due to the fact that my 3 boys were halfway done with their food, and if I ordered anything it wouldn't arrive until after they were done, that and all I wanted was some good eggs like they use to make at Le peep. They took off the meal because I didn't eat it, but the experience was ruined, and that they didn't try to...
Read moreAte here for Sunday brunch with the family, so 7 of us in total. My parents had the migas. There was a good amount of food, but my mother mentioned it was bland in taste. I had the chicken tender with soup. Honestly, the quality of the tenders was sub par for the $11 price tag. I've had better tenders at a fast food restaurant, for half the price. My sister ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich and fries. Although she did enjoy the sandwich, she did mention that the chicken was pretty dry, so she had to drench it in sauce. The fries were ok. I do want to state that the waitress that we had was incredible. She took care of the table really well, constantly checked up with us, and provided really good insight on the menu. She noticed we substituted pork products for poultry, so when someone accidentally ordered an item with pork, she spoke up and informed us, then told us what to substitute the item for. That's something I absolutely admire and respect. I didn't get her name but she had a cross tattoo on her...
Read moreNice restaurant. I'd give it another visit.
For me, nothing stood out that wowed me.
But that's not necesarily a bad thing, because I don't have anything negative to say about my experience.
I arrived a little before 10AM on a weekday.
Didn't have to wait. Plenty of seats available.
Went to the restroom first to wash my hands before seating myself. Restroom was clean.
Dining room was simple.
Staff was friendly and polite.
I ordered the Zapata Frittata. It is an older item that is no longer on the menu, but they said they could still make it.
Came with a choice of two different sides.
I choose mixed fruit and sautéed potatoes.
Food was out in ten minutes. Applause. 👏 But remember that there were plenty of seats. Not that many people there. The wait may be different at busier times.
In regards to the food, it all tasted just fine. It wasn't delicious and I wouldn't highly recommend it, but it was what I was looking for. That being, eggs and potatoes. It's hard to...
