Where do I begin? I just went here recently and the experience of dining here is getting worse, at least for the desis.
Only good thing I can say is- few items tasted good but rest was bland and nothing new or exciting. The place is clean.
I have dined here in the couple of times in the past and they were biased those times too but I ignored it until now.I thought they would change their stupid attitude by this time. I used to recommend both my desi and Western friends to dine here but not anymore. This time they really pissed us off and heck ya they don't get any tips for their stupid...
Read moreDisgusting experience- rip-off: On January 04, 2015 I have called for the food quote for 30 people gathering for Birthday party out of which food for 5 people to go. I was very much specific about the food items we were needed and the manager got that item written down, he put me on brief hold and quote me the total cost of $450for total of 30 people with 25 people dining in restaurant and order for 5 people to go, he said that this will include the tax and tip since it is a large order, Then the person name “Satish” came on phone he said if you order anything extra that will be extra charge. I also said please make sure that the food is enough for 30 people, he said don’t worry we will take care. I agreed with that. At the end of event, I got the bill that shows they charge 20% Gratuity ($104.98) and food/ tax of $43.30, when I went to discuss this in person with “Satish” he said my employee made mistake when he quoted $450!!! and he has to charge Gratuity and food tax regardless . I said him repeatedly that this was not quoted to me but he did not want to do anything saying you have to talk to Mr. Dube the owner. I called next day for Mr. Dube he never called me and later on “Satish” called me and said they cannot do anything!!!! The food was not even enough for 25 people dining so they forced us to order extra items and the tab come out to $673.18!!! I personally believe that this is clearly rip-off, Thy charge $148.28 which should not be at first place. I wanted to share this info via review so this will not happened to any one other customer. I don’t know how this will impact to his business when I talk to my circle which I will do loud and clear, and if it does- they...
Read moreI went there with my family yesterday for their lunch buffet and totally hated it. This was my third buffet in Houston after moving from Minneapolis a few months back, the previous two being Bombay sweets ($8/person) and Maharaja Bhog ($19/person). I had previously hated Bombay sweets buffet, but after having India's restaurant buffet ($15/person), the one at Bombay sweets seems pretty much good for their buffet price. All the Indian lunch buffets that I have gone had some breakfast items like idli, dosa and vada, chats, lunch items from north and south, samosa (yes, all of them had samosa), and 2-3 dessert items plus drinks all for less than $14 on weekends. However, at India's, they didnt have any breakfast items, samosa and drinks. No samosa!!!. And still $15. They had sagu paneer which tasted exactly like milk, cabbage kofta which had more salt. I dont want to talk about their naan. The only item my entire family liked was only the desserts. No wonder there were only couple of other Indian families in the whole restaurant during peak lunch hour. More than half the restaurant was empty and the remaining tables were occupied by non-Indian's. Usually after going to an Indian buffet, we actually feel so full that eating a piece of gulab jamun would seem extremely difficult. However, yesterday at India's, I could gobble up 4-5 gulab jamuns, thanks to their main course. I wonder if all the good reviews they have displayed on their walls are true or not. This is my honest review about having food there...
