If I am getting her name wrong, I will be deeply sorry because the fact that one of the owners came out and spoke with me, ask for my business card to give to people, and let me know a little bit about the story of the place is so rare. Iām obsessed with coffee. And I will spend any dollar amount does not matter on good coffee. But itās very hard to find good coffee that uses quality syrup and feels like the quality of the cost. I have definitely found some gems in Houston and this is new on my list and will be one of my favorites. I think your dollar goes far, and I would be immensely happy to support this business in particular because it is also woman operated and Ethiopian owned.
The space is extremely unique and versatile. The neighborhood is also super walkable and they are pet friendly! I donāt know how this place hasnāt blown up and Iām sure it will but it also seems like a place that has regulars, which is very telling.
Thank you so much for the experience and I will be back...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI discovered Kefita while I was visiting Houston-from Florida. Iām staying in Houston this time for 6 weeks and I have been coming home to Kefita almost daily. My favorite drink is Cappuccino and it is absolutely so delicious and creamy. I love the Ethiopian background and all the jazz music and decor which makes you feel at home. Itās a family owned business and you feel theyāre taking care of you as a person rather than a number compared to a place like Starbucks - I actually had to get my Cappuccino from Starbucks 2 days and I ended up dumping it in trash when I compared it to Kefita :) I love their croissants and the fact that they heat it up with the oven before serving which makes it sooooo flaky. Almond croissants are a must to try. I love going there and I stay there for hours working on my laptop without actually feeling the length of time because it just feels like home. Absolutely 5 stars in terms of quality of food, level of service...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt's a cool spot for coffee - a 2-story house that has been converted into a multi-purpose space from the looks of it. It seems like they will start having live music from time to time as there is a small stage downstairs. There's a full kitchen and photo shoot room upstairs with different kinds of seating on both floors inside and outside. It was barely busy on this Tuesday afternoon.
I tried their coffee latte with no syrup and only turbinado sugar and it was good. You can taste the coffee and it isn't bitter.
The barista was really nice and easy to talk to.
They have free water available to drink. The wifi speed is fast. Had no issue with streaming Spotify and browsing the Web. Background music is played downstairs only.
I'm assuming it's African-owned. As a Nigerian American, I liked the African...
