I came here this past Saturday (Sep.17) with my partner after a night on the town after being interested for the longest as we're both vegetarian. Let me tell you the wait was worth it, we came from about 2 hours out to try it and definitely will be returning soon.
The first thing that surprised me this that this restaurant is completely vegan, not just vegan friendly, an extremely rare feat despite such a demand for plant based meals. Every single thing can be ordered here guilt free (even the drinks) without paranoia of accidentally eating meat or settling for plant based food that has most definitely been cross contaminated with animal products.
The staff is extremely kind and not in a customer service kind of way, but like they truly enjoy their work environment and care about the people walking in. Multiple workers very patiently and kindly helped me with multiple questions and requests, one of which, I sadly did not catch the name of but that they started very recently was extremely laid back and easy to talk to, making small talk with me as I was paying for my meal. If this place reads their reviews please commend them especially.
Now for the biggest reason we came here for: the food! Everything was seasoned quite well, I had gotten the "cheesesteak" while my partner had the "shrimp" po-boy with mango habanero sauce. Both were very tasty, the mango sauce had a good sweet heat, and the po-boy had great balanced flavour. The cheesesteak was flavourful, super hot and fresh, and was very filling. My only problem I had with both was that if you aren't careful the contents will fall out the bread. Not the fault of the chefs though and once you get a good hand on it it'll be much easier to eat. Both were ordered without a side and cost about 15 bucks a piece. A bit pricey for every day eating but good as a treat yourself meal, sadly though, since I'd love to enjoy eating out vegan more.
As for the less than desirable aspects of the store, it seems they either didn't or had very weak AC, luckily we went at night but I imagine eating here at 3 in the afternoon would be a sweaty mess. The front door was quite heavy but didn't seem to close snugly, and while both bathrooms are gender neutral one was out, and the one that was open was quite small and cramped. No store can be perfect but there are just small quirks that could potentially be improved on in the future.
Overally the vibes of Korny Vibes are quite amazing and quaint yet still modern and full of life. It's quirky, it's hip, and it definitely attracts a wide variety of people in...
Read moreI have eaten here several times. The food was never anything to rave about but it was tolerable. Basically their entire menu is just frozen vegan items from the store reimagined. I only specifically came here for one thing and it was the Buffalo drumstick Wings. Everything else I’ve tried is not worth it. I pay $20 for a small box to begin with. Frozen fries and other frozen sides. As stated previously it was tolerable. Yesterday, I had ordered my usual meal. Only this time I had an allergic reaction almost immediately after so I knew it was the meal. My lips swelled up and I began to experience hives all over my face. I had to take Benadryl immediately. I took pictures for proof which I’ll be posting on the BBB due to how the situation was handled. They received a phone call the next day stating what had occurred and their attitude was horrendous. The team members were genuinely apologetic but once the manager got on the line(Sharu) she wasn’t apologetic at all and was told that “maybe I should go to the doctor for that.” Very rude and condescending. Also I’ve already visited an allergist several times in which they informed me even if the allergen isn’t physically in your food if someone has came in contact with the allergens then proceed to handle your food then you can react. Obviously the meal that I frequently get doesn’t have any allergens, especially the ones I’m allergic to which is any sort of nut. It is possible though that someone came in contact with an allergen(nuts maybe) and prepared/served my food. It is evident that this establishment doesn’t take cross contamination seriously as it is life threatening. You’d also think since they’re a vegan establishment that they’d take cross contamination seriously but nope! Shame on the entire establishment especially since most of the meals are mediocre and bland. Also the parking is horrible. Won’t be returning and will be filing a complaint with the BBB since my issues wasn’t addressed and...
Read moreI was thoroughly impressed with my recent experience with this establishment. Strange name that doesn't make one immediately think they'd have amazing food, but don't let the name fool you - the place is fire! Visiting from Florida, I came to town to visit family in Tomball for Thanksgiving. I searched high and low for local vegan Thanksgiving fare available for pickup and stumbled upon Korny Vibes thanks to social media. They had a robust menu to choose from, so I ordered many things. Everything I had was spectacular! Pick up service was efficient and a cinch, despite there being a pretty significant line of people there to pick up Thanksgiving orders. The impossible chickn' fried steak was incredible, full of flavor and had all the right textures. Mac n cheeze was perfect as it was yummy and the cheeze wasn't weird like it often can be with vegan mac. The green beans and fried okra were also delicious. The meal came with biscuits and glazed sweet potato donuts that were simply divine. I also ordered a tray of impossible meat lasagna and the flavors were amazing! Last, but not least, I ordered a dozen "pork" tamales. Not only did I find them to be tasty and with the right balance of masa and filling, but my sister-in-law, who is Mexican, a meat eater and a self-proclaimed "tamale snob", said they were great and passed her test! All in all, I highly recommend Korny Vibes. I've been vegetarian/vegan for over 20 years, so I've seen the plant-based industry go from almost nothing to today's trendy gangbusters status. During this time, I've traveled the world and tried all kinds of vegan products, restaurants and food trucks. Having had my fair share of really terrible vegan food and mind blowing vegan food, Korny Vibes really impressed me. 10/10 and 5 stars...
