I'm not sure why it took me so long to visit On The Kirb, as I had ordered from here on Uber Eats a couple of different times. However, I finally got off my lazy butt and went in for dinner. And now, I have gone again.
An organic eatery that's also a sports bar? Um, ok, I'm intrigued! We walked in and both times we have visited, we have been seated immediately by a friendly hostess. It's definitely got the sports bar vibe down with numerous tv's, and that is a-ok, although not really why I come here. I am here for the organic food, plain and simple!
On my first visit, we ordered the organic wings. Never in my life have I had wings that had actual meat on them in good portion. It's normally piddly little wings, but not these! For my entree, I ordered the filet. It was amazing, seasoned well, and cooked to perfection! And of course, no meal would be complete without an old-fashioned, and they sure knew how to make it right!
On my second visit, we decided to get the charcuterie board. The selections were delicious and the portion was just right for my husband and I. This time, they were having a happy hour special so I got a bottle of wine and some fish tacos. The tacos were so good, but honestly, my heart belongs to the filet and I am certain this is what I will get next time I am there.
There is so much to choose from here, the menu is quite extensive. They have a lot, although sometimes it is full, but they do have some street parking and parking in the back, if I am...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of getting take out at ON THE KIRB, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of a culinary revelation. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the Hawaiian cowboy pizza, which has now set an impossibly high bar for all future pizza experiences.
From the very first bite, I knew I was in for something extraordinary. The crust was perfectly crisp yet delightfully chewy, providing the ideal foundation for the symphony of flavors that followed. The tangy barbecue sauce, with just the right hint of smokiness, was a masterstroke, harmoniously blending with the sweet, juicy pineapple.
Each bite was a dance of textures and tastes, a flawless balance of sweet and savory that left my taste buds singing. The cheese was melted to perfection, gooey and rich, binding all the ingredients together in a way that can only be described as pure pizza magic.
It's no exaggeration to say that this was the best pizza I've ever had in my entire life. The Hawaiian cowboy pizza at ON THE KIRB isn't just a meal; it's an experience, a masterpiece of culinary art that I will be dreaming about for years to come.
If you consider yourself a pizza Lover, ON THE KIRB is an absolute must-visit. Trust me, this is the kind of pizza that will redefine your standards and have you coming back for more. Five stars doesn't even begin to...
Read moreI'm sorry, but does good service not exist anymore? Sadly, good service seems to be a foreign concept these days. Took our family from out of town to dinner here (we were a party of 5) and observed the following:
No one greets you upon arrival or even acknowledges your presence when you walk through the door. Mind you, the place was not busy at all.
There's a sign that says wait to be seated, but no one seemed to care that we were standing at the door, waiting for a table. After the waitress tells us from a far to seat ourselves, we sat for about 10-15 minutes without any service. My husband got up to get menus so that we could see what we would like to order.
We tried to be understanding towards our waitress, but clearly, she needed a class in providing good customer service as she really had no concept of it.
The food was subpar - nothing spectacular or worth going back to get. The best thing about the place was the multiple TVs with games on and that there was a Tiff's Treats in walking distance for the kids.
We liked the concept of a sports bar/restaurant with organic offerings and local beer. Our family was visiting from Portland, OR, so it was up his alley. Had the service been good, we would have considered returning, but sadly, it's a one and done experience. Best of...
