Went with my friends to wonder bar as his recommendation on 11/9/24 around 12:30am, after hanging out in there for 20 minutes I decided to get vodka shots and closed my tab, shortly after drinking the shots I was asked for my card again and received another bill for an additional $43 dollars, and my original bill that I first payed for was $33, l asked the bartender why I received the second bill and she said because I took the other drinks that were on the bar, I told her I did not and she proceeded to tell me she saw me do it, shortly after she tells me that she's gonna call the manager, the manager who is also working in the bar comes up immediately and tells me to pay the bill without trying to assess the situation. I told her that I did not take the drinks that I was being billed for, and I ask if they can show me video proof of the incident, considering they had cameras all over the bar. She then asks me if I want to get the cops involved who were sitting right outside the bar, so we go outside and talk to the police, and she immediately tells them that I was committing a theft of service, the officer immediately tells me to pay for the tab without getting my statement, and when I tried to say something, the officer spoke over me and dismissed anything I tried to say which I found this to be extremely unprofessional. I then asked the officer, " you are forcing me to pay for these drinks without physical evidence of the accused incident" he immediately says yes. So I pay for them and leave. I will be following this up and will be reporting the officers involved along...
Read moreNO STARS. 🍅🍅🍅🍅 My friends and I stopped by last night (Sunday 4/28) and when I say the two bartenders were sooooo damn drunk they couldn’t even function. I ordered three wheel shots, and told her to hold my tab open.. then she looks at me with this blank stare and I’m like “are you ready to go to the wheel? I ordered three of them” and she goes “no you didn’t”…. I said “you just started my tab “… she says “what’s the name?”… LIKE GIRL BFFR. This was a 30 second interaction. We finally get her to the wheel and start to spin. We won two drinks and a prize. We had to walk her through opening the prize door so my friend can pick her prize and once we got back to the bar to receive the drinks that we won, the bartender refuses to give us our drinks because she said we didn’t win anything. Like girl we took videos 😂😂😂 this is all a matter of like 5 minutes. So now I’m ready to go and she acts like she can’t find my card. The “manager” comes out and he’s snappy and aggressively asking how can I help you. I’m trying to explain what just happened and he keeps cutting me off and yelling “OK BUT HOW CAN I HELP YOU”. Like bruh just give me my card back and void my tab. I’ve come to this location times before and enjoy myself but last night was a disgrace. My friends and I all bartend and while I’m all for a lil drinky drink on the clock, there’s no way they should’ve been that sloppy trying to get to serve people. And it always smells like...
Read moreDon’t go to this establishment unless you want to be subjected to extremely anti-black and discriminatory dress code policies. Unfortunately, my friend was not allowed in this bar because he had on sneakers. Surprisingly, however, multiple white men and women were allowed in the bar with sneakers and flip flops. The bouncer (picture below) who seemed to be complicit in these discriminatory policies even went so far to attempt to fight my black female friends for calling out his support of this anti-black policy (even though he was willing to accept $20 from my male friend to avoid the dress code policy, while allowing white men and women to go inside for free). As a black attorney, it’s sad to see these type of dress code policies, that have been known to be racist and borderline illegal, still being enforced. It’s sad to see that black men and women are still being stereotyped based on the clothing that they choose to wear, even when those policies aren’t applied to white people (see pics below). So just be aware, if you’re black - they will...
