I’ll start by saying the girl was very apologetic. The hostess accidentally spilled soy sauce all over me getting on my arm, my hand, my less than two week old iPhone 16 pro, a few little spots on my dress and my purse. She brought me a tide pen to the bathroom which was really nice of her and I was able to get the stains out of my dress and my purse but I was more concerned about my phone. Soy sauce got into my phone speaker and into the edge of my glass screen protector so I had to peel the screen protector off and the phone case had soy sauce all in it so I had to rinse it under water in the sink. I ended up wrapping my phone up in paper towels and putting it in my purse because now it has no screen protector and no case because I wanted to be sure the case was completely dry before putting it back on so I can’t use my almost brand new phone until the new screen protector I had to order arrives in the mail ‘tomorrow by 10pm’. Luckily I haven’t factory reset and sent in my old iphone for trade in yet so I’m able to use that for tonight and tomorrow. I can’t see yet if the speaker has been permanently affected. I’m mostly upset that no manager came over to talk to us about it. I’m a manager at a restaurant myself and as soon as a server lets me know of an incident I go right over to their table, hear them out, and see what, if anything, I can do to resolve the issue. It was also very slow so I don’t think they didn’t have the time to speak with us. Our server came to check on us fairly often which was nice but he kept trying to take our plates before we were finished with our food. I always ask “can I take this out of your way” or something similar before pulling a plate from a table. I asked for our check before we were finished so that he wouldn’t have to make another trip but after selecting the tip and receipt option I looked up and my drink that I hadn’t finished was gone from the table. I asked for a container for my soup and he brought me a fresh soup in a to go bag so that was nice as well. The food was good but the experience...

I came to Ciy Center to go to Nori's but since I arrived a tad late for lunch (closed from 3-5pm), I decided to give "Ra" near by a chance. It was somewhat hidden (on the top floor but looked cool inside) So my main issue is the value/quality isn't there. I didn't even feel that it's Japanese sushi (Japanese cuisine is elegant, delicate flavors, meticulous work ... The sushi pieces I got had lumpy rice, big chunks of cucumbers, barely any fish!!) I ordered a takeout, 3 sushi rolls & all 3 were a flop! I'm a big fan of sushi & Japanese cuisine in general.so from the quick glance at the menu, I saw many "KRAB" (imitation crab) rolls!! I don't like to eat FAKE food so I asked the host if he could switch it for shrimp tempura California roll, he said "yes, $2 more". I agreed but to my dismay, it wasn't switched (maybe this is why they staple the takeaway bag so you won't notice lol!! The 2nd roll that I usually order when it comes to sushi, spicy Tuna, this one also seemed to have "IMITATION crab" inside with some mixed coloring or maybe a tad of tuna!!! The 3rd roll, I love eel rolls so I went for the eel & cucumber, this one had thick rice, big chunks of cucumbers & barely any eeL inside. EeL is abundant so usually, most sushi places put thin layers of the fish on top of the roll to let you know this is what you are getting, NOT this place! All in all, all 3 rolls were very plain, no fish on top, no crunch (CA roll), no drizzled sauces (small amount was included that's about it) Pics to follow
P.S. The host station is abandoned most of the time I was there waiting for my food ... phone rings, no one to answer but the guy was polite in addressing customers when he came around.
If this is owned by Benihana, I'm disappointed. This is not the standards they had on the West Coast. It's worth hiring a JAPANESE sushi chef otherwise, I don't think it...
Read moreLatent review.. trying to piece our experience adequately.
We thought we’d give Ra Sushi Town and Country a go as we were in the neighborhood. Our high school student and friends had a homecoming there with positive reviews.
We got there just after 12 noon in December 2023. The place wasn’t bustling. I’m rather observant and I take in most things very quickly and I pick up on the vibes of the place more it less from the get go.
There was a family ahead of us. Waiting for the hostess to sit them.. For not a busy time of the day as they were open for over an hour. First red flag is the lack of hospitality to greet all the guests even those waiting next in line.. a sincere smile and acknowledgment goes a long way. First opportunity missed to a warm interaction.
The two managers/ supervises talking in the middle of the dining area clearly could’ve set the example of seating other guests.. That did not happen.. another red flag!
Once we got seated, part of our table setting of silver wares and dishes were oily and crusty. Attention to detail and cleanliness should be Management. The red flag!
One of us chose the ramen bowl.. can’t go wrong. Had better elsewhere. The clincher was the Bara Chirashi poke bowls. Two bowls- one with rice and the other with salad greens. Had raw sushi poke bowls in many places. This one clearly has a problem. And it was instant for my spouse. Had to use the restaurant’s facility immediately. Nausea and dizziness on the ride home.. l used the amenities the rest of the day to my huge dismay. Called and reported to the manager on duty whilst I was ill 🤢.. To address and also to advise them to check the quality of the seafood. Manager was pleasantly explaining how it had not happened with other guests. We checked reviews ( following our experience )but other guests have had similar experiences!! This has happened many times before…
Refunded after many, many, many days.. a lot of management banter. Overall service from the restaurant to the management on handling our...
