I haven't been to this particular Salt Grass restaurant since before the virus, mind you this has been our favorite location, we always get great service and our food was always amazing. Well I'm sad to say this was my worst experience ever at this location, my friend and i both ordered our steaks well done. We were both so hungry and were excited to receive our food, we both cut into our steaks and both were not well done. I tried to eat my steak but i couldn't, it was pink through the middle, we let our server know about our steaks and she said the manager will be right over. The manager told my friend he would replace her steak and would cook mine as i ordered it, i agreed but was appalled that he was going to recook my steak instead of replacing it. Our server came back to tell us our steaks were almost ready and i spoke up and told her i didn't think it was sanitary to recook my steak after i had eaten a little of it and she assured me the cook threw away my steak and was making me a new steak and also replacing my baked potato. We waited another forty minutes for our steaks, by the time they arrived i was longer hungry and requested a box to take my food home and my friends steak was not well done again. The manager once again came to talk to us and apologized for a second time and offered us a dessert at no charge, he gave my friend her steak at no charge, but to tell you the truth that was not what we were looking for. We just wanted our steaks cooked correctly, mine was but not hers, the second time, someone it the kitchen needs to learn to take orders correctly and cook them as requested. The server was very nice and couldn't believe that the orders weren't cooked to our liking and not once but twice for my friend. I don't know if I'll return to this location again or Salt Grass at all, having to wait more than two hours for our food and still the order wasn't...
Read moreOur waiter Larry was great as ever. We have had him waiting on us for years. He took our drink order was polite and courteous and later came and got our food order. For 2 of us he remembered our order and we were surprised. He was always polite and courteous every time we came and ate here.
UPDATE: 5-11-2025 I called to.make reservation for 2:30p and while on the phone another person came on the line to place an order to go, the person made the statement I've never had this happen before. I was talking and she took the order to go so I hung up and called back and spoke with a guy who didn't give his name and I advised I was wanting a reservation for 2:30p and gave my name. I thought he took my information but I called back before leaving home he said no reservations so he gave me a 3:45p reservation. I know it was Mother's Day and I didn't want to be arguing so I took that time and had to call all of my party to change the time. After arriving they changed my time from 3:45p to approximately 3:30p. At that time the main seater at the hostess station told people no.more reservations but she was still taking reservations and seating customers. My grandson went to the men's room about 3:10p and the table they seated us was empty so I don't understand why we had to wait that extra time. When we did finally get seated our waitress Naajai was polite and very busy. I do understand it was Mother's Day and I heard someone say they had overbooked. This was the worst experience I've had and I and coworkers from DPS had been going there for lunch and dinner for a while before we retired. Hopefully they will do better on other holidays and the main seater that was there yesterday won't be there at...
Read moreWhat a horrible experience. We had reservations on New years eve with our daughter and her Boyfriend who we are visiting from SC. We were seated, and everything was going well. The food was mediocre at best. Service by Diego was great. After we finished, my husband paid the check. We were about the last table to leave and we walked out side to say our goodbyes and my husband realized he left his vest at the table, but didn't realize he also left his wallet until we were almost back at the hotel. So we called and the closing staff said they looked and it wasn't there, but could not have looked because they didn't even ask what table we were at. So we drove back and thought maybe he was mistaking and dropped it in the parking lot. When we got back there the closing staff was still there. But they would not acknowledge we were even present at the door. So I called again and the phone was rudely answered by the closing staff. Didn't even say Hello. Just " sir we told you we don't have your wallet" . All we wanted to do is see for ourselves. They would not let us. So my husband went back the next morning and the morning manager was much more understanding but said she still didn't have the wallet. So we are 1000% sure it was left on the table or fell under the table. So only one explanation, one of the night staff members got it. When we checked the bank the next morning a couple small charges were made to the card. So we had to cancel it. So now we are in Houston Tx and need to get back to South Carolina, he has no DL and we have no credit cards or debit cards for fuel. Not a very honest restaurant. Very sad when you spend almost 200.00 at an establishment and people...
