Bad experience here! I loved their food, but definitely not their service from our experience! I had a waitress here recently, who had the top part of her BRA in front hanging out when she was serving us as if she didn’t even care about her appearance. Her attitude and customer care was very poor! She didn’t check on us periodically and our table had to call her over to us when we needed something. My boyfriend’s friend didn’t even like her attitude even when he tried to talk to her so she can have a more of a professional behavior, but nope. He even went to GET our food BY HIMSELF because she lacked the service! At the end, our tab was about $97 and I left a $10 tip (even if she didn’t do much) and she complained about the $10 for the tab. HA! People who think they are entitled ANYTHING, because of their title or occupation is ridiculous! I’m definitely not going to pay my money to someone who didn’t even put worth the effort! Our friend Cris even said we should of never even tipped if she was going to throw it in our face about the amount of tip she didn’t even deserve! Regardless we spoke to the manager, Mason and she had already GONE to him and spoke about what she had said to us, because she knew it was wrong! Her explanation was because she knew one of us from “the past” that was the reasoning of her behavior, she was “comfortable” to do so, when we all explained we are NOT a her friend or any of that sort, whatsoever. We are just like any other client that walks in here. My boyfriend Omar says he used to see her sister come in his past jobs to eat, that’s it! Nothing to do with the waitress, Sara or being a friend. Good thing, Cris had everything in control and explain to the manager Mason that REGARDLESS if we knew OF her or any of that sort, that kind of lash back isn’t professional especially if she was trying to get the best tip! We eat around the spots here in Galleria often, and our tips depend on WAITRESS’ service not the amount! I spent more tipping than my food amount before because of EXCELLENT service. First of all we order crawfish, drinks and a hamburger. My SNL noticed the burger was not well cooked so we sent it back (after he bit into it) the waitress brought the burger back with the same meat and buns with the bit in it...so we asked to speak to the manager who said his name was Jose Luna Pena (really dude) and he sttd that they do not get fresh meat they just recook the same meat..Which is gross with Covid etc...I asked on the same grill with other food he said YES!!!! So needless to say we didnt want to continue our meal when asked how do they prepare the other food he said the same. I told him I was going to call the Health Dept and he said that is fine because they would tell me the same. After all that we were waiting to pay for our drinks and the waitress told us that the manager had the card which was Jose Luna Pena when we saw him after about 15 min he said the waitress lost the card and they were looking for it.. Now its 30minutes the waitress lied because the manager sttd he never touched the card. Once they found the card in the menu holder we were leaving and the manager and the big black guy gave us attitude and the big black guy acted as though we were going to do something and charged us up( three women) ...SMH I called back to speak to another manager by the name of Logan on Jan 31st explained what happened and he took my information and sttd he would call me back a of today Feb 1th nothing so I called today and spoke to Angie and she sttd that it depends on how you wanted your meat cooked and that YES they use the same meat on the same grill I asked about Cross Contamination and she we silent. Read moreMy wife and I had heard about Sam's Boat from a long time Houston resident so decided to give it a try on our 18th anniversary. Overall it was a good experience and we will definitely go back. Despite a somewhat mixed first experience.
Let me start by saying that the menu items shown in Google Maps are not accurate. They have salmon listed in the app, but don't actually offer it at this location. This was unfortunate as my wife loves salmon and was a selling point when I explained it was where I wanted to go for our anniversary. This wasn't the end of the world, but made what followed a little more disconcerting. After looking over the menu my wife chose the Mahi Mahi and I landed on the crab. The crab was excellent, but my wife's fish was extremely dry. We are not the type to send food back, but this truely was too dry to eat. The restaurant was fairly busy so we figured it either sat too long under the warming lights or was simply overcooked. It happens. The waitress was gracious and promised to have it corrected. I decided that, being it was a celebration dinner, I would wait to eat my food when hers came back. We had a few drinks and enjoyed the atmosphere. Fast forward 30 minutes and her new plate comes out as delicious as promised. It was very good. The problem is that now my food is cold and not near as good as when it first arrived. I'm not sure if this is the fault of the restaurant or my own for choosing to wait and eat with my wife.
Ultimately I don't hold it against the restaurant even though they could have forseen the issue and addressed it. When served it was very good, and my wife's corrected plate was very good as well.
