Shipley Do-Nuts — Restaurant in Houston

This happened last year and it never occured to me to write a horrible review explaining my FOOD POISONING. I ordered a kolache (the only thing I ate that entire day) upon eating the first bite, I noticed something was off. However I had been starving amd hadn't eaten and seeing it was already 6 P.M. I ended up still chowing down on it. Right after I noticed my stomach felt weird and I kept having cramps. Thinking it was gas, I take some meds but nothing helped. The whole night I withered in pain from a terrible cramp in my upper abdominal area. It was so bad I warned my family I might go to the hospital since I started feeling nausea and intense pain throughout. Next thing I know, I am vomiting everywhere. The whole entire day I threw up. I had no energy amd couldn't keep food down at all. The next day I stopped vomiting but my whole body was sore and weak. My muscles ached so bad for a week straight. I still had stomach pains the next few days but it grew tolerable until they disappeared. It's because of this HORRIBLE experience I have a phobia of getting food...

went to this location last night with my friend, never have i ever been treated so poorly by a worker in my life, my friends card was declined bc his chip doesn’t work on certain card readers, the employee that was working was a young man who instantly gave an attitude implying my friend didn’t have money, & wouldnt give him his card back to him, when we were fed up with the treatment of this establishment and handed the food back he still did not return his card, the employee accused me of eating from the bag when i hadn’t, we paid for the total the employee had given us in cash, n then he rudely slammed the window n said we didn’t give him the correct amount cursing at us, i understand the location isn’t in the best area but how we were treated was disgusting, don’t assume people aren’t going to pay for their food, cards get declined all the time for various reasons it’s no reason to imply we’d steal the food, we were paying customers, will never come back to...

I’ve been to this location twice, and both times were a bad experience. My second visit reminded me why I hadn’t returned after the first. However, it's the closest 24-hour Shipley’s near me, which is why I gave it another try. I went on Sunday night, 9/21, and the service was even more unwelcoming than during my first visit. It took a while for the employee to come to the window, and when he did, he seemed visibly annoyed as I asked questions about what was available—especially since, during my last visit, I was told certain items weren’t available. I understand that everyone can have a bad day, but there’s still a way to offer decent customer service without showing frustration or being dismissive. If the job is that unpleasant and it affects how you treat customers, it might be time to consider a different role—for your own well-being and the business’s reputation. The...
