Waffle House — Restaurant in Houston

Although, me and my boyfriend are avid Waffle House goers, we usually have good or great service. The other night we went to this location, and we had the waitress Rebecca, I believe was her name, and she made our experience pretty horrible. At first it was fine, she took our drink order (we just asked for water) so it didn't take her long to grab it. As she was putting the water down on our table I was mid sentence of asking if we could go ahead and order since we knew what we wanted. She ignored us, and walked away. it the took her another 10 minutes to come back and get our order. she took mine, walked away, and "forgot" to take my boyfriends. 3 other couples walked in around that time... They ALL got their food before us.... which is not ok! they were midway through their meals before we even got ours. when we did get it, my toast was burnt, so I tried getting her attention.... not even close. I ended up getting the attention of a cook to get in replaced instead bc she wasn't very attentive. As we're eating our meal, we hear her having a conversation with another waitress mentioning how she got 4 write-ups just last week... that's not ok!! After we were done, she came grabbed the plates, and dropped the bill without a word. when I got up to pay, she cleaned the table and came over to the register. when she gave me the copy to sign, honestly, I put 0.00 as the tip (I didn't feel she deserved one!) she had the NERVE to say VERY loudly "Wow! No Tip!!!" That is so rude and very unprofessional!!! Now, I work for tips as well... so I know how it feels to not get a tip, but to ASSUME you'll get one even after a crappy service is just crazy! After 4 other write-ups in a week, I don't even know if she should have the job to...

At first, it seem like a happy place. Music was good, if a bit loud, but that's okay. I got there and all the booths were occupied, which is a good sign. I sat at the counter which had no occupied seat. Probably because they were filthy. A beautiful young woman came up and wiped them down and took my drink order. I tried to ignore the spilt syrup still remaining that extended over multiple seat. I looked down and my spot had, I shit you not, butter fingerprints. Nevertheless less, I had a soft spot for this particular Waffle House because my daughter and I used to come here. The final straw was when the young waitress came to get my order and another waitress came, stood to the right of her and yelled at a man standing at the door as the waitress was trying to get my order. I can get that you might be busy and couldn't get to the counters, but damn to talk over us is just a lack of hometraining that I am not prepared to deal with. The other waitress couldn't stand to the other side so she didn't yell over us? If cooking and cleanliness are on par with hometraining, this place is screwed. This place normally has good breakfast. I guess it just depends on whose the cook that day or night. Sometimes it's burnt sometimes it's not. Sometime the grits are good and sometimes they're grey. Like I said it depends on the cook. I also would advise to just get plastic utensils because sometimes the forks and spoons have leftover residue from previous customers. My daughter and I had a late breakfast here on Wednesday the 21st the food was pretty good. I paid with a debit card for a change and decided not to tip on my card but use cash instead for that. I didn't ask for a receipt. When I viewed my online statement two days later I saw that the cashier took it upon herself to add a tip to my total without my permission. It was just 5 dollars. But to have the audacity to add an unauthorized tip is theft. I don't know what businesses practices are in place but I will be calling corporate first thing Monday and also speaking to the manager. My husband normally pays with his card when we go and he doesn't check his statements as often. I can only imagine what false charges are on there. This is so...
