The Pit Room — Restaurant in Houston

The Pit Room is known for their perfectly smoked meats, generous brisket bark, and especially for fusing BBQ with Tex Mex. It is not just a local favorite, but also is considered one the best Texas BBQ restaurants by food critics, as it’s been featured on countless food shows. If this new location is anything like their first location it won’t be long until the lines are out the door and wrapping around the restaurant. (It’s also owned by a Baylor grad. Sic ‘em!)

I've been a big fan of Pit Room via the Richmond location and was very excited to get a location within 5 mins of my home. I ordered the brisket, beef sausage, turkey, beans and mac. The food was great, I always order fatty brisket and it held well, even with my doing a pickup order. The location will certainly build a loyal base of customers and they have a bright future at that location. I only gave it 4 out of 5 due to the speed at which the long line moved. This new location for The Pit Room in Memorial is fantastic. It has all the best features of the Museum District location without the travel and parking hassles. Food is the same quality at both locations and patio seating in Memorial is very comfortable; benches, booths, high-tops, and bar. They are currently adding more features to the bar area to enhance it even more.
