Yummy's Hot Chicken — Restaurant in Houston

Literally some of the most delicious hot chicken I’ve had for a great price!!

We were so hungry after going thrifting nearby and saw that Yummy’s was open. We ordered and quickly got our food (there was no rush in the afternoon). The portions were huge!! And everything was so fresh. The chicken was moist and crunchy, with the right amount of spice - they have great descriptors on their menu so you know exactly what you’re getting into. The spice mix and sauces weren’t just your run of the mill mix of paprika and chili powder. There was some REAL different flavor going on and it really was a party in my mouth.

Such a unique take on hot chicken, especially in a city where it feels like every halal food truck and hot spot is frying up chicken, dipping it into spicy batter, and calling it a reinvention on Nashville hot chicken — they’re hardly adding any character or twists to anything, its all relatively the same… but this place really is making a difference. Bottom line: This food truck is life changing. I have had chicken sandwiches all over the country. The Luther at Churchkey, Chic-fil-a, Wendy's Spicy Fried Chicken, and of course, the venerable Popeye's Fried Chicken sandwich. Yummy's Bite's Syrian Fried Chicken sandwich is flat out amazing. I got the spicy one and it is definitely spicy! In a good way mind you, though I hope it doesn't blow out my o-ring and make me pay for it tomorrow morning. The Syrian Fried Chicken sandwich is about twice the size of your typical chicken sandwich, but not because of the bun (which is Yummy) or the garnish. The fried chicken breast is literally twice as big. It was tender and juicy, and did I mention spicy and delicious? There is a regular option but I love spicy food and my grommet hasn't let me down yet, so I went for it. This Syrian Fried Chicken sandwich was so good, I am considering moving to Aleppo. ...

Absolute Bliss! There is no comparison! Sampled both the spicy Syrian chicken sandwich and the tender basket with seasoned waffle fries. Both were amazing! The chicken is fried with the perfect amount of crunch, yet is still juicy and tender! The seasoning on the fried chicken is out of this world as you first get a taste of sweetness, followed by the hint of spice at the end of each bite. The pretzel bun is soft and light. The kosher pickle tastes amazing and fresh, texture stands alone! Their special sauce beautifully compliments the richness of the chicken. Personally, I’m not a fan of coleslaw on sandwiches, but having got it on the side I gave it a try and it was truly brilliant! All I can say is I will be spreading the word and coming back back for more of this deliciousness! Prepare to have your socks...
