First time ever being at Pita Pit tonight and will be the last. The food was good once it was made correctly but the service was absolutely awful.
I ordered the Super Greek and my boyfriend ordered a steak fajita pita. We were the only ones in the restaurant when we ordered. We waited a 5-10 mins for our food. My sandwich was supposed to have Greek chicken and gyro meat (the gyro meet was the main reason I ordered this sandwich). Once I bit in my first two full bites were 100% spinach. Then I took a couple more bites and only was seeing the chicken. My boyfriend’s was full of meat from bite one. I picked through to halfway through the sandwich and still saw no gyro meat. I was disappointed, my boyfriend said to go up and tell them the gyro meat was missing. I reluctantly did (I hate complaining, as someone with 10 years of restaurant experience). I very politely went up and said my sandwich was missing the gyro meat and asked if I could just get a side of gyro meat heated up and I showed the inside of my sandwich. One girl, who was taking another customers order at the time, yells across to the man I was speaking to and says “no I know I put gyro meat on there” and I said, “ok, but look can you see any?” to the he man I was originally speaking to. He replies “there should be some on there I guess” and walks away. I was appalled. It took all the courage to go up and ask if I could get the meat I ordered just to be told that what was before my eyes wasn’t real. I sat down, upset. I guess I was just going to eat the sandwich that wasn’t made correctly. My boyfriend (also very politely) took the sandwich to the girl at the register , she took my partly eaten sandwich and brought it back to the food prep station (yuck) and dissected my sandwich for a couple minutes then says “just for the record, there is gyro meat on here” (I didn’t ever see said gyro meat) and then says “I’ll make another one though since I took it apart”. They make me another and it’s a million times better. Gyro meat and chicken in every bite rather than 50% spinach. At that point my boyfriend was done eating so I had to take mine in the car to eat (we were going on a road trip).
Two points I’d like to make (again, as someone who’s worked in the industry): 1. If you have to dissect a sandwich to find a MAIN ingredient, there is not enough of that ingredient 2. When a customer politely makes a request because their order is not up to the par it should be, and can visually be seen as less than satisfactory, the last thing you should do is argue with your customer. Your job is to make it right! I absolutely couldn’t believe I was told no when I communicated my food was unsatisfactory. Especially when I wasn’t even asking for a new sandwich, just some meat that was missing and I was happy to put it on myself. Wasn’t out here trying to scam for free gyro meat….
Anyways that was probably one of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Won’t be...
Read moreWe stopped by while on a road trip about mid afternoon. We were unfamiliar with this restaurant but the menu and concept was explained very well by the employee. I asked each staff person what they liked and decided to try the Thai Chicken. I loved it. It was very flavorful and had a good helping of veggies in it. My husband got the Dogwood and Chicken Wild Rice Soup and was happy with it. We got the standard toppings but you can select the toppings you like, as well. The pita bread is thin and likely has fewer carbs than a sub type sandwich but it didn't suffer in taste any. If this place was close to us, I'd be back to try some of their other sandwiches but it'd be hard to pass up the Thai Chicken. They have some bottle/canned drinks and one of those fountain drink dispensers where you punch buttons on a screen. The bathrooms were very clean. My only quibble would be that it was kind of cold in the dining room. I'd tweak the temp up a few degrees. I had to put my coat back on...
Read moreUse to oive going here for the food. Not so sure after my last visit. All my other meals were made fast and good service. I'm not sure what happened this time. 3 people working when I came in. I ordered, sat at a table and waited for my name to be called. And waited... No one was there expect what I thought was another customer eating. Turns out it was an "employee". My food was sitting behind the counter for 5 minutes without being given to me. "Employee" sees me looking around, gets up, without washing his hands and finishes my food. Then I had to ask for a fork, when he hands me by touching the fork end. Ew. During this whole time, the 3 others I saw were never seen again. "Employee" used the bathroom and pretty sure didn't wash his hands. Heard the toilet seat going down as he was walking out. At least he put the seat down. Not going back. Hygiene...
