OK, so we’ve been hearing some good things about a new fast food joint here in Hurricane, Utah, so we checked out the menu on their website and decided to give it a try. We’re glad we did, as it was a shocking surprise.

Having never been to a Del Taco before, my expectations were pretty low. Boy, was I wrong. Why have I wasted so much time at the ding-dong place?

I decided to do a taste test, so I ordered seven different items while spousal unit just ordered one item and a drink. She’s conservative, you know. We took our larder home and began the test. Here’s what we found.

• All items were prepared right in front of us, unlike that other franchised mexican place, with the name that rhymes with Del. You see everything that’s happening on the assembly line. • All items were AMPLY stuffed with ingredients. I watched them slather on the refries, pile on the cheese, etc., and couldn’t quite believe it. The portions were at least 20% larger than the rhyming place. • I concentrated on the breakfast menu, even reluctantly ordering three items with the carne filling. I fully expected to hate it. • I LOVED everything I tasted. Flavors were full and robust. All portions were uniformly ample. Every item tasted absolutely fresh. Even the packets of salsa were tasty but not punishing. • Did I mention the ample portions? I literally just finished the last item for lunch today, so I got 3.5 meals out of my seven items, spousal unit got 2.0 meals out of hers. She’s conservative, you know. • And to top it off, the young lady that waited on us, Yari, was simply AMAZING. She zipped around the entire place like an Olympic miler, taking orders, stocking bottles of orange juice, wiping tables, and helping several of her fellow employees when they didn’t seem to have a clue what they were doing. • You DEFINITELY want Yari to be the one who takes your order. She’s brilliant at her job and flashes a dazzling smile to boot. Try getting that at any other fast food joint. • And to top it all off, we compared our usual bill at the ding-dong place for three items and two drinks, with our bill at Yari’s place for eight AMPLY STUFFED items and one drink, and came up just pennies shy of $30 at each place.

Our conclusion? Less than half the cost of the ding-dong place, wonderful flavors, ample portions, all delivered with a dazzling smile … you be the judge. See...

Let me start by saying that I usually like Del Taco; they're great for a quick, cheap snack when you need it. The chicken roll ups and fish tacos are a personal favorite there and continue to be. However, based on my recent visit to this specific location, some of the food was almost inedible and the staff left something to be desired. The biggest issue was the chicken quesadilla, which was so salty I could barely eat half of it, and I love salt! I also had caramel cheesecake bites that were overly greasy and more on the burnt side.

The fish tacos were good, as usual.

The staff, although friendly, were slower than I've experienced at any other location and would've forgotten my shake had I not reminded them. They also didn't give me a receipt despite my asking for it twice, as I felt the price for everything ordered was more than it should've been.

I'm a very understanding person, and I don't like leaving bad reviews, but this was honestly not a great experience for me. I hope the next time I try them it'll be a different story... Because I do believe in...

I was so excited for Del Taco to go up so we didn't only have taco bell. However, my biggest problem with Del Taco is they are SO STINGY on the SAUCE. I forget to count for them when they ask if I want sauce so every single time they give out TWO packets. Really?? I went again yesterday in the drive thru...ordered six tacos, chili cheese fries and two 8 layer burritos. Now in my house we all want sauce so when I got home everyone started looking for the sauce. We found TWO(2) packets. They could have at least given one for each item I ordered so my kids didn't have to fight over who got the sauce. I don't ever have to deal with this at taco bell, they're generous with their sauce. I know it shouldn't be a big deal and once or twice it wasn't. But it's been every single time. When I only want one item I'll go to Del Taco. When I'm feeding my family, I'll go to...

I hope the manager or owner actually reads these!! I stop by this location pretty often because I work until 11:00pm most nights. I LOVE Del Taco! But the service from the middle aged blonde woman with glasses has been terrible! I honestly don’t want to go through if I’m able to see she is working in the window. She didn’t greet me for the first 4 minutes of me being at the window. And when the order is ready she very quickly opens the window and shoves the bag at me. Two visits in a row! That is a fast food crime:/ Soooo much customer service help is needed with this one! UPDATE: I’m pretty sure they smashed my burger as well 😂 I got it home quite carefully

This place has gone downhill since they first opened. When they first opened the food was amazing the crisp tacos were my favorite. That being said the last couple times I got crisp tacos here, the taco shells were stale and soggy. The first time this happened I was upset and thought it was a one time thing. The second time this happened to me when I bought 20 crisp tacos for a birthday party and every single one was stale and soggy. I will include a photo of how the tacos fold like a soft shell taco. I don’t know if management changed or what happened but this place is no longer a place to eat at in Hurricane. Do not go here.

Went here for lunch on a weekday with a couple of friends. We were greeted warmly, they took our orders and the food was made to our liking. We would absolutely recommend this DelTaco. The only thing that was just ok was our mini shakes were not mixed all the way. The restaurant was well kept and the lobby was clean despite being busy.
