The following review contains subliminal imaging: (This place is really clean.) Red Panda Wok and grill is a real Mom and Pop business.Technically they are located in Hurst, Tx, because they are on Precinct Line between Harwood and Grapevine highway/26, but because of where they are you can easily get there from North Richland Hills, Hurst, Bedford, Euless and Colleyville. You cannot see the business from the road. They are in the strip center behind Taco Cabana and Dickey's, but the business is worth looking for. A relatively smaller menu, but every item is fresh. All veggies are fresh, not frozen or canned and everything is made the day it is used--even the chicken. Portion sizes are extremely generous. They can barely close the large clamshell package. My favorite is simple. Chicken fried rice with lots of peas, carrots and fresh white chicken in American style rice, meaning neither sticky nor undercooked, flavored with chicken broth, soy sauce and spices. The cream cheese won tons are a good deal, but a bit sweet. I love them that way, but some people do not, so I am letting you know ahead of time. Speaking of sweet, the young lady at the register always greets me with a smile and "Hello, Ma'am!" She double checks my order and makes sure there are forks, cookies, etc. The atmosphere is what you would expect from a more authentic Chinese place. Not over done with a ton of faux asian Schmaltz, but clean, neat and relatively minimal, though comfortable. (And clean.) They have a (clean) corner location, so two walls of the (clean) dining room are glass. This gives it a more airy (clean) feel, but, to be honest, I have only ever ordered take out on my way home due to my schedule. Food is prepared as quickly as fresh food can be and is still hot when I drive the 15 miles to my house. Did I mention the place is clean? I have not been here many times, but I intend to make it my go to for Chinese take out...
Read moreI personally LOVED my experience here. I came here to eat for my lunch break from work and I was not at all disappointed in my choice cause I think this is my new favorite go to Chinese food place.
Service: The employee that greeted me was super polite, sweet, and helpful. She helped recommend what to eat since it was my first time there and served me my food. She was patient and very kind, so overall 5/5 on service.
Food and 3. Portions: For my meal today, I ordered a kids meal of Orange Chicken (which, mind you, comes with a side of either steamed or fried rice - I told her I wasn't very hungry and she recommended from the kids menu since it was my first time eating there and it was a smaller portion), a side of edamame beans, and a fountain drink. Now the food presentation itself was absolutely ADORABLE (see the image for reference), the panda shape of the food was a nice touch to the kids meal based on the whole restaurants name. The portions were actually GREAT and when I say how flavorful the Orange chicken was, I meant it was absolutely DELICIOUS!! The steamed rice was so soft and it was especially good with soy sauce. Not to mention the edamame beans were very soft and satisfying to eat, and for the portion, it was a great price.
Price: Again, my meal was an Orange Chicken kids meal (comes with a side of either steamed or fried rice), a side of edamame beans, and a fountain drink, it came up to be around $15-$16, which for the portion sizes and how fulfilling it is, is an absolutely fair and GREAT price.
The ambiance/atmosphere was a bit quiet and, slightly dreary, but to be fair, it's a small establishment and I believe most people get take out, so it's understandable if there isn't many ppl.
Overall: 5/5 stars!! I loved it, will recommend it to LITERALLY everyone, and will definitely be going...
Read moreThis is such a conflicting review. The employee working the front was very friendly on the phone taking my order and when I came in to pay. I’m so conflicted with the review because of the food. I ordered hot garlic chicken w/fried rice, edamame, egg drop soup, and Thai iced tea. First I want to say the food was prepared with very fresh quality ingredients. The veggies in my chicken were colorful and fresh and cooked very well. The chicken was good clean chicken and again cooked very well. The rice was cooked well but was pretty much white rice (even though it’s supposed to be fried) with a tad bit of egg in it. The edamame was a little under done which I could’ve dealt with but there was very little salt so it was very bland. The same with my hot garlic chicken. Though it had fresh ingredients and it was cooked well, it was so bland. It should have been spicy, but even black pepper has a bigger kick. And not only did it lack spice, overall it had no flavor. My total was $17 and I paid $20 after a tip and I was honestly so disappointed and felt like I wasted my money because of how tasteless the food was. NO I don’t have Covid. I can taste my food just fine. This truly had no flavor and no spice. 3 stars because the staff was friendly, and they use good fresh ingredients. But I won’t be coming here again sadly. I really am disappointed because of how good of quality the ingredients were I would’ve liked to make this a regular...
