Avoid at all costs if you have children. We were told our children needed to be seated at all times (clearly not a person who has ever been around a toddler, lol), silent, and play with crayons. My friend and I found it exceptionally strange, to say the least! Don't be fooled by the fact that they have a kids' menu, they are not big fans of families/children, and they don't mind letting you know that just as soon as you've paid you're bill and tipped (nice touch). My friend and I had thought it would make a nice meet up for our large friend group with its centralized location since we all live far apart, but we won't return and we certainly would not recommend it to our friends given our treatment. Being a parent of small children is exhausting enough, and packing them up and taking them out into public can be a feat, save yourself and your kids the hassle and don't go. If the demographic and ambiance you seek to foster is 21-and-up, by all means... cater to that! But, don't slap a kids' menu on your regular menu and be upset when families come. And if you're a patron who, like the staff, also does not wish to be around children... maybe select one of the literally hundreds of other options you have in the Indy area that do not allow children? I will say, we went a time or two years ago, and it was fine (with the same crew, I might add!), but the attitudes towards family and kids has changed quite drastically... And we won't...
Read moreLove this place for a decent quick bite to eat. Not a huge fan of the pretzel sticks, but the beer cheese is TDF.
Atmosphere is interesting...it's a long space, and it's kind of...looming inside, so even with the fireplace (which is high and more of a bar divider than anything), it's not the epitome of a warm and inviting space, although Brewlink has clearly tried, adding in faux greenery above to help sort of lower the ceiling, and lots of wood. I'd say it's a fairly balanced space. Not easily handicapped accessible...the only door, I believe,.that comes in flat is at the front of the building, not the side where the handicapped parking is. Of the two side doors, one has at least a step up to get in, and the other,.on entry, is maybe four steps down.
Service has been good almost every time, and my husband says they have some good brews...I'm not huge on beer. I do know that they have specials on growler refills on Sundays and on tacos on Tuesdays. The tacos are yummy, and 2-3 are a good meal, so, with a drink, you're under $10 a person.
Overall, a nice, friendly, fairly accessible downtown spot that doesn't cost an...
Read moreI’m very sad to say we will not be returning to this location after the words and actions of the manager. We have been enjoying going to Brewlink at least once a month for trivia for the last couple years. We make it a family affair. We have had some enjoyable evenings there despite the fact that the food is only so-so and there have been some evenings of poor service (they go through a lot of servers). We have been able to get past that though because of the atmosphere and the beverages. We usually do have a big party and know that can be a challenge. However tonight was exceptionally bad. Our table was basically ignored for drink refills, busing, and the server was a bit aggressive when cashing out. . We felt the need to express our frustration to the manager. His responsive was very aggressive and upsetting. He obviously does not respect us or our opinions. And he does not care about his customers. We have never complained before even though there have been other times it may have been justified. I will miss our trivia nights there but we will no longer go to a place that ...
