If you’re looking for a place to take cute Instagram photos and pretend you’re having a fine-dining experience, this spot delivers perfectly. The food, however, belongs in the witness protection program—it’s hiding from flavor.
From the start, things went downhill faster than my excitement. We sat long enough for the waiter to age into a veteran before being greeted. Then came their “complimentary” chips and salsa- stale enough to double as coasters and dips so forgettable they should’ve stayed in the kitchen.
After a long wait, we ordered the carpaccio, which was so salty it could’ve seasoned the entire restaurant. I don’t complain often, but this one forced my hand (and my blood pressure). Swapped it for guacamole… unfortunately as bland as a participation trophy. Apparently, their kitchen has two settings: ocean water or cardboard.
To be fair, the drinks were excellent. Honestly the only thing saving this place from total culinary chaos. Beautiful presentation, strong pour, no complaints there.
But the service? Painfully slow. The entire meal took three hours, and the only thing that moved slower than the staff was my glass of water getting refilled. When the ribeye finally arrived, it looked great… until we cut into it. Dry, dull, and entirely forgettable.
At that point, we thought maybe dessert would save the day. Nope. Ordered three different ones just to confirm our disappointment. The tres leches was so dry it could’ve qualified as a sponge. I’ve had better from a grocery store box mix—and I’m not even a chef.
Our server didn’t bother asking why full plates were going back untouched. Maybe that’s standard here.
In summary: Drinks? Great. Aesthetic? Gorgeous. Food? A crime. Come for the photos, stay for the regret. And honestly, we should’ve known better—it’s owned by the same people behind Verde, and that place was déjà vu-level...

Read moreMy group of 14 friends and I visited Piedra at around 5:15 PM, excited to try a place that had been getting a lot of attention. Some of our friends had already arrived, so we started off with drinks and appetizers while waiting for everyone else.
The appetizers were nothing remarkable. One of my friends ordered the guacamole with taquitos — she actually loved the taquitos more than the guacamole and wanted to order just the taquitos alone, but the chef refused, saying she had to order the entire dish. It didn’t make sense, especially since she was willing to pay the same price.
For my entrée, I ordered the filet mignon rare. Unfortunately, it was past well-done by the time it arrived — and that wasn’t until 7:00 PM, nearly two hours later. The vegetables were overly salty, and the mashed potatoes lacked flavor. Overall, the dish was far from what you’d expect at this price point or from a restaurant with this kind of buzz.
Between the long wait, the lack of flexibility, and the disappointing food quality, I left feeling let down and unimpressed. Sadly, it’s not worth the hype.
If you’re looking for mediocre food and a place to pay for the Instagram photo, this is definitely the...
