Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Indianapolis

I’m so disappointed in the service (or lack thereof) with the employees at Popeyes on Michigan Road.

Visiting my sister nearby we were CRAVING some fresh hot chicken! Passing by KFC, Wendy’s, and even Churches Chicken we made our way to our favorite restaurant…Popeyes 10-23-2025 at 11:15pm. Pulling up to the intercom we noticed the vehicle ahead of us pulled off so fast (I found out the reasoning to their actions). The employee immediately spoke, asking us to hold for a second. “Of course”, we happily responded.

Engaged in conversation we noticed we beefing waiting about 5-10 minutes. So we spoke into the intercom asking the employee was he ready. No response. Waited another minute. Spoke into the intercom, asked if he was ready. No RESPONSE! I pulled up a bit where I could see inside the back door that was open. I could see someone maybe washing dishes with a power hose. So I spoke for the third time asking if we could order. NO RESPONSE!! So a vehicle pulled besides us asking if we ordered. We said no. They proceeded to explain HOW they waited 30 minutes at the intercom after a guy asked them to hold on for a second. They stated he NEVER came back to assist them. That family, had about 3 children in the back sit and two adults. It’s 11:30 at night so I assume the family was hungry like myself and my sister. That vehicle was seen heading to Steak-N-Shake! My sister and I decided to leave after waiting 30 minutes! Guess where we went? To the Popeyes in CARMEL! Where the employee on the intercom immediately took out order when we pulled up! Plus the chicken was hot and fresh! That was a 30 minute drive. The Popeyes on Michigan Road is less than 5 minutes away from my home.

The thing is, I would have understood if the employee was super busy or overwhelmed and let us know the wait time could be this OR that. But to TOTALLY IGNORE me and several other cars? What are you getting paid for?? To sit? To hide?

Popeyes on Michigan Road you sadly lost a customer and to the Popeyes in Carmel...

If I could give it lower I Would! Such a terrible experience. Worst Fast food establishment Ive ever been to.

Ordered food at the drive through. Payed at the window and told to go to a parking spot and they would bring it out. Waited 20 minutes and finally went inside to get it. They wanted to see my receipt and looked dumbfounded and confused on why I haven't gotten it yet. The manager says it will be another 5 minutes. Not happy but i go sit and wait. not long after that, another gentleman comes in and says they made his sandwich wrong. Same sandwich i ordered. They tell him 5 mins as well. about 7 or 8 minutes go by and that gentleman got his sandwich...same thing I'm waiting for. I give it a few more minutes. Nothing!

I hop in line and by the time i get to the register, it had been almost 40 minutes from the time I ordered. (I only get an hour lunch break) The lady at the register whom Ive already talked to still confused and didn't know why I was waiting. I tell them i just need a refund at this point and that i have to go. I took almost 5 minutes for them to even figure out how to do a refund.

No apologies or anything. I'm not one to go to corporate, but i did. No, surprise they don't care either. I reached out to the Franchise owner. Got a response a week later asking for details so they could forward it to the Store manager. Im not sure what thats going to do since she didnt care to begin with.

I dont want anything from them, I just want to warn everyone to avoid this place at all cost!

If the franchise or corporate reads this (doubt they will) Just train these people better.

I want to add, after finally getting my refund (which im not even sure I actually got) I went next door to KFC. I got my meal in less than 10...

Love Popeyes but hate this location, Worst customer service ever . Their rude staff. I order 2 popcorn shrimp and 3 chocolate cookies and two frozen strawberries lemonade. Paid for in cash. The two drinks was given to me ,then I was told by the cashier to pull up upfront a little and wait for the food . There I was waiting…….. more than 15 minutes and no one came to give us anything. Then suddenly a car pulled up behind us and ordered then I saw them leaving with food. So I walk to the window and told them we been waiting for more than 15 minutes for the foods and what was going on. I told them the order and they proceeded to make the food and one of the staff told the cashier that took my order to close the window on me while I was still talking to them. ( felt that was disrespectful and unprofessional)So I knocked on the window , then told them I didn’t want the food no more . Charged me the drinks and gave me the changes. She then rudely&loudly said bring the two drink back ( imagine this huh smh 🤦‍♀️ my friend and I already was drinking. So I then said to her I’m on the clock ( I’m at work ). Told her again it’s ok just gave the change,. she rudely and loudly said NO , to bring the drink and I will gave you the money. So I then went to my car and gave her the drinks and she handed me the money and I drove's back to work. This happened around 9pm 02/07/22 and this is not the first time I felt disrespected at this location, I write this review because I felt that was the worst one. Never buying shiit...
