T-Mobile took over $1,100 for absolutely nothing In 2019 I decided to get the iPhone 11 Pro Max a few months after it came out (July). I decided to do a 2 year lease on it which cost $39.59 per month, just tacked on to each monthly phone bill. In April of 2020, T-Mobile buys Sprint, the carrier I purchased the phone through. My lease is still not completely paid, so I keep making payments. T-Mobile owned Sprint when my lease payment should have been removed from my bill.
Fast forward to today, February 1st, 2024. I’m looking over my bill details and I notice that there’s a charge on there that doesn’t include my iPhone’s protection plan stating that it’s for leases. Confused, I check the leases tab and there are no active leases.
I HAVE BEEN PAYING AN EXTRA $39.59 PER MONTH FOR 30 MONTHS ($1,187) FOR A PHONE THAT IS ALREADY PAID OFF.
I call customer service and a very professional young lady named Diamond helps me, she tells me that they had to manually remove so many lease charges from people’s bills. I asked if I could be refunded for these extra charges and she tells me that she can only refund 2 months worth of payments (under $80). I understand that she has protocols that will not allow me to talk with her supervisor so I don’t even know why I bothered asking. I made sure to be really nice to her because at the end of the day, it’s not HER who’s been pocketing the equivalent of an extra YEAR’S WORTH OF PHONE BILLS from me.
I have called customer service several times over the past few years for help on a few things, there have been PLENTY of times that they could have spotted this error.
I am so upset about this and will be switching to a different phone company by February 21st (the day my bill is due) if I am not made whole. I advise anyone thinking of switching to T-Mobile to think twice about it, seeing as they clearly have no issue taking the hard-earned money that is not...
Read moreMy mom and sister went in to buy my sister a new iPhone at this location today; I believe their experience in-store was fine, however, somehow the process of setting up my sister's new phone resulted in MY phone line getting deactivated without warning, cause or explanation. Out of nowhere, 600 miles away in Virginia, I wasn't able to send texts or call anyone - which understandably caused panic. Luckily I have a Mac that's connected to my Apple ID, so I was able to iMessage and FaceTime my sister while she was still at the store, otherwise I'm not sure how I would have figured any of this out. I don't know if this was human error on the customer service rep's part or a T-Mobile system error (as he claimed), but I ended up having to unnecessarily set up a new eSIM card that also ended up disconnecting my Apple ID from my phone and messing more things up in the process. To reiterate: this entire transaction had nothing to do with me, my phone or my phone line, but it somehow affected me the most. Regardless, this experience is one of many in which (what SHOULD have been) a simple transaction with T-Mobile (not just this location) resulted in mind-numbing confusion and...
Read moreHad issues with the cell service while I was on vacation. Seems that I was in one of those places where cell service is not available. The thing is that I had checked with the T-mobile sales people and they said that the two areas were good for me on October of 2021. Then when I finally went to the locations in (6/05/22) I found out that the cell phone is not able to work in the area. It seems that the secondary cell phone company that they were doing business with left the planet. So I had no cell service for the four weeks that I was in the area.
Lucky for me, my wife had Verizon and I was able to get some business done. Sorry T-mobile you dropped the ball on this one for sure. Did some research and found out that T-mobile is very poor with service in rural areas. They like to have good service only in the big cities. So very sad that this is a real problem for people who are in rural areas.
I will be changing to Verizon and dumping T-mobile. I need cell service for my business and they were not able to...
