This was a terrible experience on 07/06/2018. The worst experience my family and I have endured. Dawn, our waitress, was amazing, but it wasnt until we were ready to leave that things got out of hand. We take our receipt and head to the front counter to pay as the process is directed in this place of business. We sat at the front desk from 1036p until 1116p waiting to be cashed out. All the while, we watch as employees make eye contact with me and can see the frustration, but yet they did not help or find another associate to help. The customers at the door begin to pile. A group walked out the door without paying as their patience was running out. Finally a clerk comes to cash out the people before me but they had a list of complaints, and she had to get the manager. I was shocked to know a manager was on duty! The manager was in the back making ice cream. He comes up to the desk with an apron and no name tag (what an example). I explained to him how this is terrible customer service. This line has been waiting for service for over 30 minutes. He shrugged his shoulders and said "what do you want me to do" I told him he needs to manage his team. No one took the initiative to help the long line, and from what I saw from the manager, it seems that he sets the standard. He had no idea how to handle a rush and a crowd of angry customers Many of us threatened to never come back. I'm here from Ohio, but we come to Indiana often but we will never return here. I directed all waiting customers to call the hotline and elaborate their experience. The manager needs coaching or he needs to resign. The team deserves to have a leader. Each of those employees are set to fail under his wing. He is creating a delusional working atmosphere where his employees can see a huge crowd of waiting angry customers and think to themselves "that's not my job". Get it together Manager "no name" please fix this...
Read moreWorst service ever. I came into the store to order two chocolate ice cream peanut butter cup and cookie dough milkshakes and paid for extra candy in both. After 25 minutes I'm handed milkshakes that I did not order. So the lady just stands there starring at me like She expected me to just take the shakes I did not order then precedes to throw my spoons on the counter. I don't know about you, but I do not want my spoons touching their nasty counters. 45 minutes later I get my shakes and the manager mckaylnn says sorry the guy that took your shakes was deaf. I was standing there the whole time. He wasn't deaf, I spoke to the guy and he could hear just fine. As a manger you should own your mistake, not put it off on an elderly person? I Requested to speak to a manager to get some kind of compensation for waiting for so long, and she says there is nothing she can do for me after waiting 45 minutes for 2 shakes. I leave the store, Start to eat my milkshake and there is no candy in my shake. Just some sprinkled on top when I PAID for extra. I called in to tell them and Alyssa "the manager" says I promise I put extra candy in there.(why would I trust her promise when she lied about a man being deaf, very odd to me) I'm the one eating the shake and I'm telling her there is no candy in there so she hung up on me. I call again to speak with another manager mckaylnn and she hung up on me as well. I do not understand what is so difficult about making it right when they were the ones who messed up my order. Milkshakes are not that hard to make. I've worked in customer service for 10+ years and I would never treat my customers the way I was treated tonight. You would think they were 13 years old. Alyssa and mckaylnn are terrible managers and I Will never go back to...
Read moreAlways a horrible experience. Never do they wear masks or gloves or do anything that they're science described but they are cheap and easy and that's why I continue trying if everything else was open I would not continue going to this location. this location has signs outside the state they will wear gloves, where masks, seal your bags, provide touchless payment. The only thing that they abide by is the touchless payment. Nobody in this location seems to care about their job or about the customers. You can tell that the staff here just there to earn a paycheck and are not into their job at all. If this store actually has a manager involved they are either lazier than the employees or they just don't care what the employees do and do not care if they follow the company guidelines. I would assume since nobody wears mass that you can see while you're there that the cooks probably don't wear master gloves either. This place almost seems like it's just a starter restaurant for new people to move on to better places unlike any other fast food restaurant out there that's hiring experienced overqualified people due to the current economic status. It's very disappointing that steak 'n shake does not have high standards for their employees or their restaurant and that they put out signs so they seem to but you don't know that they don't follow their own guidelines until after it's too late and you're already at the window to pick up your order. and being a fast food place it's not the kind of place you want to send it back and say I'm not taking that unless you put on gloves or a mask because who knows what's going to happen to your food if you start giving them...
