This would be a great place to go if you wanted lots of cabbageā¦except we wanted popcorn chicken. We were shocked to discover that our box of popcorn chicken was heavily padded by a thick layer of cabbageāit took up at least 1/3 to 1/2 of the box.
If the chicken had tasted good, then this couldāve possibly been overlooked for a possible future visit, but unfortunately, the chicken didnāt taste fresh. There wasnāt much flavor to the chicken itself, to the point that we had to ask for some sriracha on the side to make it less of a chore to eat. The basil was limp and stringy as well, so no bonus points there!
As for the atmosphere, I did enjoy the vibes! Loved the classroom theme and nostalgic Taiwanese decorations (havenāt seen the bobbleheads in forever!), and the blackboard was an awesome touch. However, the tables were rather sticky and did not look like they were wiped down often. The floors were also not the cleanest, and I can see why our friend warned us about seeing rats and roaches there in the past.
Overall, Iām rather sad about the quality! I felt a bit cheated by the chicken (canāt believe we basically paid $4 for cabbageā$8 total), and I do not think I will be coming backāwhich is a shame because the store offered so many...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot only are the drinks great, the food is quite good as well. We often come here without even getting Boba drinks and just order lunch. There is a meal set that includes two items, which is quite a reasonable deal. It's not all fried chicken or pork chops either, there's healthier options, such as the house noodle soup which includes tofu and bean sprouts.
Before writing off the food here, you'll need to try a few items. If we started with the pork chop rice first, we would have probably had a different experience, we just weren't fans of that, which seemed overly fried and mushy. However, popcorn chicken, calamari, udon noodle soup, those were way above our expectations.
They have so many varieties of boba and drinks, you can easily get overwhelmed. But I think the traditional milk tea are the safest options and won't disappoint. Trying something new may be a bit too unique and that happened multiple times with me. I later just stuck with the drinks and toppings I was familiar with and had consistent experiences each time.
Seating is a little unusual for most inside as they are trying to recreate the old taiwanese classroom style, likely not familiar to most customers. But there's also plenty of outdoor seating...

Due to COVID restrictions and social distancing, a portion of the line forms outside. Once the cashier calls you up, you have the choice of ordering the medium cup, large cup or the split cup. The difference in price for each is about $1. Because of COVID, the cashier is also in charge of scooping the toppings for your drinks. They offer a large variety of toppings (boba, popping boba, rainbow jelly, taro jelly, egg pudding, fruit, grass jelly, etc). My favorite toppings are the taro jelly and grass jelly. They are always so fresh.
Once the cashier hands you the cup with the toppings, it's time to make the big decision; choosing the DRINK! They offer a large variety of drinks; slushies, teas, and milk teas. There are a few drinks that they don't have in the dispensers, but you can ask the cashier to get it from the back. My favorite drinks to get are the wintermelon tea and jasmine milk tea.
Next time I go, I will be trying some of their dishes and even...
