Stunning views, slow service...food, where to start...got the omakse for 3 of us at $150/person, took about 4 hours to serve 9 courses, with each course amounting to about 2 small sashimi pieces, leaving us desperately hungry after nearly 4 hours.

By the 8th course, we gave up on the idea that a "main dish" was coming out and had to order an entree on top of the omakase to not leave hungry. Ordered the poke bowl, which came without rice, as they ran out of rice apparently (how does an Asian restaurant ever justify running out of rice), and 2 ramens. The noodles were stuck together, the pork was like jerky, and broth so salty that I couldn't eat too much despite being hungry.

They served $80 saki in cracked saki cups.

The bill came out to just under $1,000 for three.

Stunned that an establishment priced at that level offers sub par quality of food...

The dining experience was marred by subpar service; the staff were inexperienced and inattentive, detracting from the meal's overall enjoyment. Additionally, the decor was notably outdated and unappealing, creating an atmosphere that felt neglected and unwelcoming. The interior, with its dated decorations, urgently needs a refresh to match the quality of the dishes being served. This incongruence between the quality of the food and the environment significantly impacts the appeal of dining here, suggesting that a comprehensive overhaul could greatly enhance the overall experience. The restaurant's culinary offerings, particularly the spicy tuna bento box, was flavorful and well-prepared, showcasing a commendable mastery of traditional techniques and fresh...

Wait staff was good, the resort the restaurant is located on is beautiful. The sushi was not good. We had high expectations especially for a restaurant located on such a bougie resort. Proof the tourist will enjoy mediocre cuisine just because it's dressed up fancy. Living on the west coast of FL I'm very spoiled when it comes to seafood & sushi & this was definitely our worst meal we have had this week in islamorada. I write this as my gf continues getting sick all morning from the last roll we shared, she said it didn't taste right as I was...

Tucked away inside th Cheeca Lodge & Spa, Nikai is easily one of the best sushi bars this reviewer has ever been to. Seating is on an upper level that faces the resort beach. The tables are simply decorated with a small lamp and live bonsai trees. The live music is loud enough to enjoy, and still have normal conversations. The food truly is the star. Three of us went and shared two sushi rolls and the bento box. A. Ma. Zing!! If you get the chance to go, do it. You won't be disappointed.
