Went for the first time last night and was really disappointed in the service. It wasnt really busy in my opinion, being that it was a Saturday night and most other places are packed, so there was plenty of walking room and places to sit, and that was nice however since there went many there I would have expected far better service. It took over 20 minutes just for someone to take our food and drink order. The bartenders were extremely rude, except for the one guy that ended up cashing us out at the end. I wish I would have gotten his name so he wouldn't be included in this bad review but I didnt. He was a younger guy with a smaller frame compared to the other bartenders. He apologized for the bad experience and tried to explain how hard bartenders have it sometimes. I dunno.. I am 32 years old and have been to many many bars that were WAY more slam packed and still never have had such a hard time ordering. And I was never ever even greeted. I never had one bartender smile at me. It was weird. They definitely all acted very unhappy. It wasnt a welcoming experience at all and I left very disappointed and pretty confused to say the least. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because the food was actually pretty good and the last guy was somewhat apologetic. I am a really good tipper because Ive worked in the service industry before but for the first time ever I actually really didnt want to leave a tip. Im a really easygoing and forgiving person and it takes a lot to get me mad. I didnt show it too much but I was actually pretty angry. I did leave $5 on our $30 tab (2 drinks and 2 plates) because I couldn't bring myself to not tip at all, however, I really hated doing even that much because everyone was so rude and basically refused to serve me the entire time we were there. We would have gotten several more rounds of drinks but only got the first round plus our food before leaving. We went to another bar up the road after that and had a great time. The constant rounds of drinks for our party for the next few hours came quickly at the next bar and there were far more customers! My advice to Brix is hire bartenders that are friendly and personable and make you feel welcome. They should at least smile if they cant speak to you. And ya know, they should take your order at some point as well lol.. thats the whole point right??? These bartenders must be miserable based on the way they interacted with other customers (like I said they barely spoke to me for some reason) but the customers I saw them serve they were short and unfriendly and not personable with. Even though they were rude I really feel bad for them. I sat and wondered why are they sooo unhappy??? It was just weird. Like I said, good...
Read moreI’ve been hitting Brix Taphouse at Jax Beach for the past nine years, and it still holds strong as one of my all-time favorite spots. Whether I’m rolling in straight off the beach or meeting up with friends for a night out, Brix has the perfect mix of laid-back vibes, great people, and food that never disappoints.
The atmosphere is always a whole mood — beach casual with a buzz of energy, especially when the place fills up. They’ve got plenty of outdoor seating if you want the breeze and people-watching, but the heartbeat of Brix is inside, where the bar’s always hopping and the kitchen stays hustling.
And let’s talk food — the daily food deals here are insane for the quality you’re getting. It’s honestly super affordable whether you’re on a budget or just don’t feel like dropping $50 on bar food. From the juicy burgers and crispy, golden fries, to the loaded nachos and mouthwatering wings, everything is flavorful and consistently solid. The howler sauce on the wings is a game-changer — spicy, sweet, and unforgettable.
The Southwest eggrolls are crunchy perfection, and the mozzarella moons? Huge, gooey, and downright addictive. You’ll want to order everything twice, and you can actually afford to.
So whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite, a cold drink, or staying all night, Brix delivers every single time. Huge shoutout to the crew at Brix for keeping the food great, the prices low, and the vibe unbeatable. Thank you for all the good times — here’s to...
Read moreMy friends and I go to Brix every Tuesday to enjoy the taco deals and this evening we had Stephanie as our server for my friends bday and we were all very disappointed with our service. We all sat for about a half hour before anyone even came to take our drink order and my friends just got drinks from the bar, when I arrived She started off being short with me as I tried to order my drink, I ordered a sweet tea and she snappily said "I don't have that" like ok no sweet tea? As we sat for about an hour I realized All 10 of the members of my party finished eating and three rounds of shots were taken,,after inquiring where my food was Stephanie rushed to tell me with zero eye contact- that they are obviously still making it and it's on the way ? So after 25-30 more minutes and watching the not half full bar eat before me i finally received my four tacos as my friends received their second rounds of food. It was obviously clear that Stephanie forgot to send my order through since I was the last of the group to order, and I noticed she also had friends come to converse with her at the bar so she was simply distracted (understandable) but instead of communicating that she proceeded to tell me they were on the way three times as I saw everyone in the bar eat before me 😂 we looked for so we will be back of course because we love Brix and the manager, sweet woman with the glasses, is always such a pleasure! but from one server to another...
