Okay this review starts with when I went to this place the first time about 3 years ago and I had their short rib sliders but it was on St Patrick's Day and it had the most amazing Apple slaw in it and also met a really cool bartender named Matt he's no longer there but he also makes me drink.
Now comes up to the update to this just went there last week and they had a special Burger with that's made out of brisket and the brisket you can tell it's very fine quality because it's very beefy I tasted that beef 3 days later that's how beefy it was anyway let's get on with the burger. The burger itself I had actually didn't even bite into it I had my girlfriend bite into it first and of course she was hungry but probably has never tried a burger of this magnitude so that's why I let her go first first like I said it was brisket that had been grounded and there was a sauce if I can remember it correctly there was a peanut pina colada sauce Teriyaki glaze sauce and a pineapple slaw and it was I think there was bacon in it I don't remember because everything else was so freaking good end up the brioche bun was buttered to Perfection and literally it looks it was so pretty I didn't really want to even eat it because it actually look like the picture you know how most pictures show you what they look like but then when you get it it doesn't look anything like it so you kind of get like let down visually anyway on with the story my girlfriend took a bite not just one not just two not just three and no I didn't get any bites in between half the burger was gone already before I got a taste so can you imagine how good that is and she's very picky about her food and the funny thing is she got the chicken sliders and she didn't really want to eat it because she had already devoured my burger and the Truffle fries that came with it just the Truffle fries alone are worth going there for okay even though you're on a budget. I just want you guys to know the Side Story to the Burger the burger was actually created by the chef's wife and he was actually against putting on the menu but what persistence from his wife she was able to get it on the special menu you know of the day Burger of the day and I'm glad she kept pushing them and I know of the chef and what he he is amazing and can do amazing things with food so I wasn't doubting you know his doubt about if this burger could make it but his wife hit it right on the head and maybe the chef was just been working too much too many hours and he just needed another view from his wife nothing against you Chef. Also his wife he had make comes up with amazing cocktails and this is due to her work up in New York from what I heard but I'm pretty sure my sources are pretty spot on.
The whole menu they have there is amazing you're not going to be disappointed with anything you've ordered and no I haven't eaten everything on there but just the things I've eaten if he puts that much attention and his wife puts that much attention into it then I know it's got to be good or great. Don't just take my review to see how good this place is go and see it for yourself and if you're disappointed then you better have your taste bud check or your nose check because I'm telling you this burger I would die for this burger and it's a joke I said to the waitress I just had sex with my burger. And just to make sure nobody gets offended that was a joke but really I meant it it was that good. Also if you go there there's an amazing new bartender I forgot her name I apologize but also there's a great server her name is Tiffany so make sure you ask for her she is new and she's learning so give her a little time but she was spot on with the service and all those people that work there I know them like not in person but I know how hard they work there so please let them know if you enjoy the way they treat you and you know tip them accordingly you know to what you think is right. With that I hope that you take my advice and go try it and if you enjoy it a lot please...
Read moreOne of the worst dining experiences ever.
The dishwasher/bathroom wall (the plastic kinds that are placed in areas usually in the back of house) in the dining room should have been a dead giveaway for what was to come. The decor is very much clearance section at Hobby Lobby, but sometimes the best food is from places that are a little touch on the eyes.
The drinks: Overpriced drinks with cheesy names that would be fine on happy hour at your local Applebee’s. They reminded me of what I thought a good cocktail was when I was like…18?
Appetizer: “goat cheese balls” aka flavorless Costco frozen party appetizers fried and served on top of some crushed up pistachios. We also ordered a flatbread that had another Costco level goat cheese spread and some weird soft figs and a pitiful quantity withered prosciutto. Weird but not the worst part.
Mains:
2 of the 5 in our party ordered a NY strip and the chicken gnocchi. Wow.
The chicken was somehow over and under seasoned at the same time, and tasted very very bitter. No one ate it. The gnocchi itself was fine, but didn’t taste fresh or made in-house. Another grocery store level menu item, and the sauce was ok.
We ordered one medium and one medium rare NY strip, and when they came to the table on a bed of (again Costco level frozen) fries, everything looked ok. However, the medium rare steak was SO RARE that we could not eat it. It looked like a seared tuna steak, even some of the fat was not rendered and was still white.
The burger we ordered was, again, Applebee’s-level. A thick piece of pineapple was on it and i still don’t understand why.
We didn’t complain or speak to a manager or ask for anything to be comped. We paid the bill and left and will simply never return and tell our friends not to either. It seems like most reviews for Prospect are good, so maybe it was just bad luck, however our experience was *SOOO BAD that we will not be giving it a second chance.
The saving grace was the server who worked the whole room by himself and checked in with us, and made sure our water glasses stayed full. He was great and the only reason for...
Read moreWent there for dinner with friends. Sat in the front, which was supposed to be the best area for a conversation. Not even close. There were 3 tables and the noise was so loud we had to yell at the waitress to order food. I couldn't hear what the person next to me was saying. The food was also sub par. Ordered apps. .Ahi Tuna, brussel sprouts, and artichoke dip. We had to send the brussel sprouts back because the first set was so "crispy" it was similar to eating the remains left on a BBQ grill. The second set which was pan roasted wasn't much better. We ended up leaving earlier than anticipated and finished our dinner elsewhere. Go for drinks only and expect a sore throat the next day.
Edit to respond. When we asked to move to a different table the waitress explained that where we were seated was the quietest area in the place, and said we could go to the back and check the noise level if we wanted. but that it was louder in there, which is why we declined. We were not informed of the area upstairs and had we known that, we would have happily moved. Additionally when the reservation was made, it was specifically requested that our seat be in an area where conversation was easy to hear. We actually stated at the table that we would have preferred the person accepting the reservation state that Saturday evenings are not the best option for dinners with conversation. I'd respect that.
I'm sure the misunderstanding as to what you said regarding the brussel sprouts was in fact due to the excessive noise where we were eating, because I could barely hear you. For us to return the item because it was mostly inedible, the next step would be to offer the pan roasted option, at least I would think. We did inform the waitress that this was our first time at your establishment and asked what she would recommend from the menu.
All in all, it was just a disappointing experience. I truly hope my...
