I actually went to the Ecco Lounge the night before I continued my move east this Spring with my folks. It's a restaurant they like going to occasionally and there's a couple dishes they like to have when visiting. The Ecco Lounge is one of those places that has a colorful local history. So much so, they are proud to share it on their menu as you decide what to order. The main bar area itself is what you'd expect, though they have preserved as much of the place's history as possible in the floors and furniture. If you dine in that area you will certainly enjoy it. However, I would like to see a little more thought and personality go into the dining rooms behind the main bar area as it is kind of close quarters and not as "colorful" as the bar. At the very least tie it into the rest of the place a little more seamlessly. Many locals know of and rave about the prime rib sandwich ($15) and when I ordered it, it didn't disappoint. For the price, you get a nice piece of prime rib served on a toasted hoagie with horseradish sauce and au jus on the side. This was a very mouthwatering sandwich and I enjoyed every bite. The au jus was also very tasty and complimented the sadwich. The only critique that it was a hair underdone; while this didn't bother me, some folks might not like that. However, I will add the disclaimer that it may have been more the service that evening than the sandwich itself. The fries served alongside the sandwich were done just right and we're crispy. My folks also ordered the fried mushrooms to start our meal. Overall, they were good and the dip paired well with it. However, especially per my folks' critique they were a little soggy and not quite as good as they usually are. The service was decent, but wasn't the best. I am probably giving a little more generous rating than my folks would have, but the service was a little slow and could use some improvement. I believe the service we had also affected the food we had, but not too heavily. Part of that may have also been to us dining midweek, so keep this in mind when visiting. I would like to see the service and atmosphere improved to really help sell their food. But, Ecco Lounge is a unique bar and lounge with some really tasty dishes. Definitely worth trying out at least once, especially for the prime...
Read moreI was very disappointed with everything. I chose to try this place out for my birthday after reading the reviews. When my family and I, a party of 5, got there there was any kind of greeting. When we got to our table we were asked what we wanted to drink and had to ask what drinks they had because it wasn’t on their menu and I had to ask specifically what they had besides bar drinks because I had kids out me. Then when the waitress came and introduced herself she never mentioned the special offered for that night. When we ordered there wasn’t any mention of equipment being down that would delay receiving the food. We had 2 kids meals, a sandwich, and the prime rib dinner. When I received the salad that came with my dinner there was a hair in it, and they apologized and got me a new one. However, after an hour and a half of waiting we were finally told that they only had 1 fryer working so the kitchen was backed up. When the food finally arrived my prime rib wasn’t medium like I ordered, it was medium well and room temperature. The fries that my family received weren’t even hot. I let them know that I had ordered medium for the prime rib and it wasn’t medium or hot. They apologized and said they would take money off, but they only took a small amount off which was basically the 2 kids meals. They did give us a coupon for 1/2 off appetizer and $2 off our next visit. I can guarantee there won’t be a next visit especially with how expensive it was even after taking some money off. Not a place I...
Read moreI do date night with my other half every Friday.. We love to try new spots around town every time we go to eat, that we haven't tried before. This was a first and last visit for us due to not a single person asked if we were doing okay or checked on us for the 40 mins total we spent there. Our server Claire was flirting with these what seemed like regulars rather than attending to her tables.. sitting down behind us...when we first arrived things were good.. a nice gentleman brought us our appetizer. I ordered a water and my other half got a coke. We planned on getting 2 burgers and possibly hitting the bar and having a couple drinks after to relax from a long day of work and getting some us time. After, the bartender possible owner/manager picked up the plates from the appetizers we waited and additional 15 mins sitting still not getting our order placed. No rush but drinks were low and plates sat from the appetizers about 5/10 mins. So ruffly 20/25 mins total with no server ordering for us after the first inital interation 40 mins when we walked in the door and got sat. The vibe seemed nice, just a relaxing spot... but the service killed it for us. I was charged a lemonade for my water on top of it and at that point just wanted to get out of there paid and left. I love leaving great reviews and with all the good reviews we were super disappointed we didn't get the same experience. Great onion rings atleast. Hello, to Big whiskys for the night...
